Two Catholic bishops, Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, and Bishop David J. Malloy of Rockford, Illinois, have released a statement blasting President Joe Biden’s executive order that will allow US taxpayer money to fund organizations that promote and provide abortions overseas.
The statement was posted Thursday on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
“It is grievous that one of President Biden’s first official acts actively promotes the destruction of human lives in developing nations,” the bishops wrote. “This Executive Order is antithetical to reason, violates human dignity, and is incompatible with Catholic teaching. We and our brother bishops strongly oppose this action. We urge the President to use his office for good, prioritizing the most vulnerable, including unborn children.”
The executive order in question rescinded the Mexico City Policy, which did not consider abortion to be a “family planning activity” and ensured that taxpayer money would only go to health service organizations that respected the sanctity of all life, including the lives of unborn infants.
Archbishop Naumann and Bishop Malloy’s joint statement continued: “As the largest non-government health care provider in the world, the Catholic Church stands ready to work with him and his administration to promote global women’s health in a manner that furthers integral human development, safeguarding innate human rights and the dignity of every human life, beginning in the womb.”
“To serve our brothers and sisters with respect, it is imperative that care begin with ensuring that the unborn are free from violence, recognizing every person as a child of God. We hope the new administration will work with us to meet these significant needs,” the statement concluded.
These bishops are not the only ones to speak out against President Biden on this issue. Big League Politics wrote about Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles’ statement that Biden has vowed to pursue an agenda “that would advance moral evils and threaten human life and dignity, most seriously in the areas of abortion, contraception, marriage, and gender.” That article also reports on Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco’s public criticism of Nancy Pelosi and her stance on abortion.
EQUALITY: Tennessee Legislation Would Give Discretion to Fathers Regarding Abortions
This is what fairness looks like.
Two Tennessee state legislators have introduced legislation that would allow a father to file an injunction against the pregnant mother to stop him from ending the baby’s life.
State senator Mark Pody (R) filed SB0494 in the state senate while state representative Jerry Sexton (R) introduced HB1079 in the state house. The legislation would permit “a person to petition a court for an injunction to prohibit a woman who is pregnant with the person’s unborn child from obtaining an abortion.”
Additionally, the legislation gives the petitioner the ability “to execute a voluntary acknowledgement of paternity that is not subject to being rescinded or challenged.”
“If he can prove to the courts that he is the father, the biological father, then he has rights to what’s going on with his son or daughter,” Pody said, as reported by FOX 17 News.
FOX 17 News issued a poll to gauge the support of the measure and it is practically deadlocked, showing how equality is shamefully rejected by much of the masses:
POLL: A bill moving through the #tnleg would allow the father of an unborn child to petition the court (for an injunction) if the mother of the child is planning on getting an abortion. Do you support or oppose this legislation?

Leftist special interest groups are outraged at the notion, calling this push for true equality an attack on women’s rights.
“This unconstitutional legislation demonstrates the condescending mindset underlying this bill: that men should control women’s bodies,” ACLU of Tennessee Executive Director Hedy Weinberg said in a statement. “Women are not chattel and this bill needs to be stopped in its tracks.”
“This extreme and dangerous bill would even allow a rapist to stop his victim from ending a pregnancy,” Weinberg added.
Abortion proponents are inventing absurd hypotheticals in an attempt to deny basic equality for fathers. Planned Parenthood wants to protect its very lucrative fetal chop shop racket, after all.
“A pregnant person must have the ultimate control over their body and their pregnancy. The legislature needs to stop trying to distract the public from their leadership failures with increasingly stigmatizing abortion restrictions,” said Francie Hunt, who works as the executive director of Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood.
“Nobody should have the power to make health care decisions for someone else — not a judge, a partner, and certainly not a rapist regardless of paternity,” Hunt added.
It turns out that feminists and social justice warriors don’t really want equality. They only want freedom from responsibility, which includes the “right” to murder a baby in the womb. This legislation in Tennessee evens the score and more states should consider similar measures secure to men’s rights.
