Christian Man Who Destroyed Satanic Displays in Iowa Capitol Receives Hate Crime Charges

Michael Cassidy, a Christian veteran who decapitated a Satanic shrine on display in the Iowa State Capitol building, has recently received ‘hate crime’ charges.

In December, Cassidy beheaded the caped figure that was placed in the building by The Satanic Temple, and tossed the goat skull that functioned as its head in the trash bin.

According to Cassidy, he took this action to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government.”

Instead of just slapping him with misdemeanor damage to property or vandalism charges, the Des Moines Register reported  that Polk County prosecutors charged the veteran with felony third-degree criminal mischief, contending that the act was “in violation of individual rights” under Iowa’s hate crime statue.

A statement from the Polk County Attorney’s Office asserted that “Evidence shows the defendant made statements to law enforcement and the public indicating he destroyed the property because of the victim’s religion.”

Cassidy is currently raising money for his legal defense on his GiveSendGo page. The page says the following:

“Out of the millions of Christians in this nation, Cassidy was the first to act in bravery and conviction. He was not willing to see God reviled, especially in a building where lawmakers are supposed to honor Jesus Christ as King and look to his law for wisdom as they legislate with justice and righteousness.”

Cassidy’s case demonstrates yet again the depraved nature of the present justice system. Leftist radicals will be left off easy for committing serious crimes, while the Right gets routinely pushed for the pettiest of infractions.

The Right must take this into account when it gets back in power. At this point, we must be willing to do the same to the Left when they go back to their usual criminal ways.
