College Republicans Executive Director Condemning America First Chapters is a Longtime Never-Trumper
An executive director of the College Republican National Committee who has taken to condemning America First chapters in the light of a letter from the chapter presidents calling upon President Donald Trump to end the H-1B and OPT cheap labor programs has a lengthy track record of opposing Trump, including taking a stringent ‘Never Trump’ stance during the 2016 presidential election.
CRNC Executive Director Benjamin Rajadurai slighted the College Republican chapters that signed the letter calling for an immigration freeze on Friday tweet, falsely claiming that only seven chapters signed the missive. Chapter representatives from more than twenty CR organizations across the country signed the letter to President Trump calling for the President to end the worker visa programs.
Rajadurai appears keen to dismiss the activism of the chapters, despite considerable support for their vision of immigration restriction across broad demographics of Americans. However, it appears he has a very tenuous claim on credibility when it comes to conservative policy, considering the CRNC executive took a strong ‘Never Trump’ stance during the 2016 election. Some of Rajadurai’s tweets indicate he was resolute in opposing Trump at the time:
The Massachusetts man apparently was a Jeb! supporter. Why is he even serving as a Republican Party official if he sees the Republican President as an ‘idiot?’
He saw Donald Trump as ‘racist’ at the time.
He saw Trump’s nomination as a great disappointment.
College Republicans and conservatives across the country expressed great disappointment to Big League Politics when learning that a national CRNC executive is a stringent Never Trumper who steadfastly opposes the conservative ideals they seek to promote.
Christian Secor of America First Bruins expressed disappointment with the alignment of CRNC national leadership.
“I was always aware that there were problems in the GOP but I never could have imagined to what extent the Republican Party was selling out the American people. Conservative students from all over America are sick and tired of the way the so called “conservative” movement has been ran and, thankfully, the American people are ready for true conservatism, populism, and tradition, with young people leading the charge.” Rajadurai has endorsed an attempt to de-recognize and replace the prevailing California College Republicans federation with an establishment group.
“The spirit of the Republican constituency was overwhelmingly America First, and Never Trumpers were left behind. College Republicans are increasingly having their nationalistic brand of conservatism stifled by these very same Never Trumpers at the CRNC,” said Eoan Harrison of the Santa Clara University CR’s.
Marshall Whinney, of the Bull Moose Party at Penn State, described what he had seen as pervasive Never Trump influence throughout national CRNC institutions.
“Our organization came into being after our College Republicans held a secret vote against endorsing Trump in 2016 while classes were not yet in session. Our interactions with like-minded individuals across the country have revealed an alarmingly consistent pattern of fraud being used to keep Never Trumpers in office at many Republican student organizations.“
Republicans striving to implement the Make America Great Again agenda that President Donald Trump campaigned and won upon have no choice but the question the legitimacy of official Republican Party institutions that appear to have little to no regard for the President himself.
