Indiana Congressman Jim Banks said on Monday, March 16, 2020 that the United States should start making China to “pay the burden and the cost incurred” by the U.S. thanks to the Wuhan virus.

The Indiana elected official made the statement during an appearance on Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight.

“We need to start by forcing China to pay the burden and the cost incurred on the United States of America due to the coronavirus. I think there are many ways that we can do that,” Banks stated.

He added:

The president could force China to relieve a great amount of American debt. He could institute tariffs on China and designate the funds from that into a coronavirus victim relief fund to pay the cost incurred on Americans and American taxpayers due to the negligence on China’s behalf that’s led to the crisis in America today.

“So by releasing the debt, the U.S. debt held by the Chinese, we could fund that,” Carlson said, asking Banks if he believes the Trump administration will follow through with this plan.

“I hope so,” Banks commented, congratulating the “enormous” strength Trump showed on trade deals.

“I have no doubt that President Trump will do everything that he can to hold China accountable for what they’ve caused on Americans today,” he stated.

“I joined @tuckercarlson last night to discuss how we can begin to demand reparations from Communist #China for putting us through the economic strain of #coronavirus,” Banks said in a tweet promoting his Tucker Carlson Tonight segment:

“By refusing to let CDC come to China and study the new virus, by lying to their citizens and saying the virus wasn’t transmitted by person to person contact when they knew the opposite was true, National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien has said this cost the world two months in preparation time for this virus,” Banks declared in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News.

“China needs to pay up, and Congress will be working with members of the Trump administration to learn the best way to hold them accountable,” he continued.

The virus, which has origins in Wuhan, China, has infected over 189,000 people worldwide at the moment. The number of cases in the United States is currently over 5,000.

CBS Miami reports that police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly changing the voter registration information of Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

Governor DeSantis recently found out that his address had been changed to an address in West Palm Beach. Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents then launched an investigation into the matter.

They traced the address change back to 20-year-old Anthony Guevara, who apparently altered the governor’s information “via computer over a web browser.”

Miami New Times reports that Guevara faces two felony charges of accessing an electronic device without authorization and altering a person’s voter registration information without consent. He is currently being held on $5,000 bond.

This surely won’t do much to ease people’s fears of voter fraud in the Sunshine State. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump said Tuesday night that he is “winning big” in Florida:
