Controversial Child Gender Clinic Forced To Shut Down After Report Finds It Not ‘Safe Or Viable’
The transgender movement for children is beginning to see the backlash it deserves.
It is also facing obstacles over its controversial treatments, as new reports are surfacing that highlight just how unsafe these procedures are for youth.
Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust is one of the nation’s most controversial child transgender clinics. It has just been shut down for children, however, because a damning report by Dr. Hilary Cass found that the institution was “not a safe or viable long-term option.”
Moreover, Cass warned the gender clinic disregarded other mental health issues, thus “overshadowing” them in favor of gender identity issues. In other words, NHS was rushing children into these dangerous, life-altering procedures before doing any due diligence to address any other potential issues for their patients.
Cass also went on to say that she found “insufficient evidence” for the drugs being administered to children by NHS.
“Staff should maintain a broad clinical perspective in order to embed the care of children and young people with gender uncertainty within a broader child and adolescent health context,” Cass wrote in a letter to NHS England expressing concern over these drugs.
She also called for more research into the effects of puberty blockers on young people’s brain development in her letter.
Meanwhile, in America, the Biden administration is doing everything in its power to make medical gender transition surgeries more accessible for children.
FDA officials, however, have started warning about the potential negative side effects of puberty blockers for minors. And even placed a warning on puberty blockers earlier this month because of brain swelling, loss of vision, and serious risks for children injecting the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH).
This is what a spokesperson from the FDA had to say about the findings:
“Although the mechanism by which GnRH agonists may lead to development of pseudotumor cerebri has not been elucidated, and patients with CPP may have a higher baseline risk of developing pseudotumor cerebri compared with children without CPP.”
“This potential serious risk associated with GnRH agonists justifies inclusion in product labeling,” they continued.
Biden has rightfully come under fire for his warp-speed efforts toward “gender-affirming care” for minors. He wants insurance companies to cover the costs of these procedures along with abortions under his latest proposal. And is using broad language to attack current safeguarding measures that prevent children from easy access to sex change treatments.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine (who is a biological man) believes the country should not limit youth access to this so-called care. According to Fox News, Levine claims every major medical association agrees that “gender-affirming” care saves lives.
These comments, nevertheless, are quickly being denounced due to lack of conclusive evidence to support Levine’s claims.
