Corrupt District Attorney Is Caught On Camera Disobeying Police Officer After Speeding Incident
According to a report published by WHAM, on April 26, 2024, Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley refused to stop her car after a police officer tried to pull her over for going at a speed limit of 55 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. Doorley chose to drive home, calling the police chief to complain on the way. She was later met by police officers in her driveway where she attempted to use her position to avoid responsibility for the criminal violation.
“I didn’t want to pull over on Phillips Road. I just figured I’d pull up to my driveway,” Doorley said to an officer, which compelled him to say that’s not her choice in a legal traffic stop, per the footage that WHAM acquired.
“I made it my choice,” Doorley said in response.
Doorley asked the police officer to only write her a ticket for going over the speed limit. That said, the officer replied that by refusing to stop after he tried to pull her over was an “arrestable offense,” per the footage. In another clip, Doorley informed an officer that she understands the law better than he does and to “get out of my fucking house.”
“You know what I’ve been dealing with all day? Three murders in the city,” Doorley said to an officer. “Do you think I really care if I was going 20 miles over the speed limit?”
Doorley claimed that she didn’t believe she was being stopped “because no one would ever pull over a black SUV” with plates that would identify her as the car’s owner. She repeatedly refused to leave her garage at an officer’s request. She even disobeyed direct orders not to enter her house as other officers on the scene discussed punitive options.
Doorley issued a statement a day before the release of the bodycam footage in which she took responsibility for her actions and admitted to pleading guilty to speeding in a municipal court on April 23.
“Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the rule of law, even traffic laws. Anybody who knows me understands without a doubt that I have dedicated my entire 33 year career to the safety of this community,” Doorley declared in a statement published on April 25, per WHAM. “My work to ensure the safety and respect of law enforcement is well proven time and time again. I stand by my work and stand by my commitment to the public safety of Monroe County.”
Many elected officials think they’re above the law. As a result, they will work to violate laws and note even comply with lawful orders when they are caught.
The US is simply attracting the worst people to higher office and it’s affecting the very way many political functions are carried out.
