Corrupt Senator Bob Menendez Says He Will Run As An Independent In 2024 Election Cycle
On March 21, 2024, New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez revealed that he would not run in the Democratic Senate primary. He expressed his optimism about the prospect of running under the independent banner.
The Justice Department recently issued an indictment against Menendez and his wife, Nadine, on three separate counts per a press release published in September by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Menendez announced he would not be running in the New Jersey Senate primary slate for June, but still left the door open to running as an independent Democrat.
“The present accusations I am facing, of which I am innocent and will prove so, will not allow me to have that type of dialogue and debate with political opponents that have already made it the cornerstone of their campaign,” Menendez declared in a video statement posted on YouTube. “New Jerseyans deserve better than that. You deserve to hear from those who wish to represent you about what they would do for you and your families in the future.”
“Therefore, I will not file for the Democratic primary this June,” the New Jersey Senator added. “I am hopeful that my exoneration will take place this summer and allow me to pursue my candidacy as an independent Democrat in the general election.”
Menendez and his wife were allegedly gifted cash and gold bars from three New Jersey businessmen in return for helping the Egyptian and Qatari governments, per the September press release by the Justice Department. Menendez’s wife also allegedly obtained a new Mercedes-Benz car after the senator attempted to intervene with a criminal investigation in New Jersey, per the indictment.
Menendez announced he would “temporarily” resign as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee as a response to the indictment. Menendez has had numerous run-ins with corruption charges. Back in 2017, Menendez faced corruption allegations that resulted in a hung jury.
New Jersey Congressman Andy Kim and Tammy Murphy, the wife of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, announced that they would enter the primary to square off against Menendez after his indictment came up. Menendez only received 9% of support according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University poll published on February 2, whereas 32% of respondents supported Kim and 20% supported Murphy.
Menendez is one of the more repulsive figures in American politics. He’s a corrupt interventionist politician who wants US taxpayers to fund the DC regime’s geopolitical ventures, whether they be in China, Russia, or Iran.
Hopefully, Menendez is relieved of the burden of holding higher office and he is replaced by a political leader that has more reasonable foreign policy views.
