DeSantis BLASTS Media Reporter: ‘People Don’t Trust You,’ Pushing False Narratives
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to criticisms brought forward by local reporter Evan Donovan from WFLA on Monday about a recent bill aiming to expend parental rights that just passed on the Florida Senate floor.
Desantis made it very clear to the media that he views HB 1557 as a bill to protect both the minds of children and the rights of their parents despite Democrats trying to assert it’s the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, likely attempting to imply that the bill somehow villainzies homosexuals in the school system.
The fake narrative in question was peddled by many, including local reporter Evan Donovan from WFLA who asked Ron DeSantis about the bill.
A clip shared of the interaction shows Donovan beginning his question with “what critics say” and then using that famous leftist moniker ‘Don’t Say Gay.’
“Does it say that in the bill?” DeSantis said in response to the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ tagline.
The reporter tried to make excuses for the question, leading DeSantis to call out his dishonest agenda even further.
“I’m asking you to tell me what’s in the bill because you are pushing false narratives. It doesn’t matter what critics say!” the Florida Governor sternly replied.
“Well it says it bans classroom instruction on sexual identity and gender orientation,” responded Donovan.
“For who?” Desnatis hypothetically asked, before continuing. “For grades pre-K through 3. So five-year-olds, six-year-olds, seven-year-olds, and the idea that you wouldn’t be honest about that, and tell people what it actually says, it’s why people don’t trust people like you because you peddle false narratives.”
A round of applause broke out from the audience before the governor concluded his words.
“We’re going to make sure that parents are able to send their kid to Kindergarten, without having some of this stuff injected into their school curriculum,” the Florida Governor declared.
The Post Millenial further highlighted this media dishonesty by pointing out that an earlier report by Evan Donovan himself had said HB 1557 is officially titled “parental rights in education.”
