Don Jr. Makes GREAT POINT About Democrat Hypocrisy on Felons Voting

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Donald Trump Jr. criticized 2020 Democratic presidential candidates for being “more concerned” about giving more rights to felons than law-abiding gun owners.

On Twitter, Trump Jr. questioned the Democrats’ logic, “What does it say about the modern-day Democrat Party that @BernieSanders and @KamalaHarris seem more concerned about giving mass murderers like the Boston Marathon Bomber voting rights, than protecting the civil rights of law abiding American citizens who legally own guns?”

The son of the sitting president was referencing the arguments that Senators Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris made at CNN town hall meetings on Monday.

The Vermont Senator said that all felons should have the right to vote while in prison. Above all, domestic terrorists like the Boston Marathon bomber.

Specifically, the Senator asserted that “I think the right to vote is inherent to our democracy.”

Sanders added, “Yes, even for terrible people, because once you start chipping away … you’re running down a slippery slope. … I do believe that even if they are in jail, they’re paying their price to society, but that should not take away their inherent American right to participate in our democracy.”

In the same token, Harris stressed the need to have the “formerly incarcerated” keep their right to vote.

Harris did not give a firm answer about whether current felons should have that right.

The California Senator said, “I think we should have that conversation.”

BLP has reported that both Sanders and Harris support stricter gun laws.

While mass incarceration has become a huge issue in the 2020 elections, Democrats have exploited the topic to even cover violent felons.

At this point, Democratic frontrunners appear to be more concerned about the rights of violent felons rather than law-abiding gun owners.
