Donald Trump Launches New Communication Platform on Personal Website
Former president Donald Trump has launched a brand new communication platform to keep his supporters informed about what he’s saying and thinking.
The platform is called “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” and can be accessed here. He will use it to communicate directly to his supporters, and while visitors do not have the ability to reply or otherwise react to Trump’s posts, people can nevertheless sign up for post alerts at the bottom of the page.
Trump not only has the ability to post comments, but images and videos as well. He posted the following video announcing the platform on Tuesday afternoon:
According to Fox News, “the technology appears to be powered by Campaign Nucleus, the ‘digital ecosystem made for efficiently managing political campaigns and organizations’ created by his former campaign manager Brad Parscale.”
After getting banned from Twitter and Facebook in January, Trump had been releasing statements through “The Office of Donald J. Trump,” some as short as tweets, others longer. Although Gab has been aggregating his statements under the account handle @realDonaldTrump—and hence often being mistaken for an actual account operated by Trump—“From the Desk” is the first Trump-run platform that collects all his messages in one place.
