Donald Trump Trump Cruises to Victory in New Hampshire Primary
Former President Donald Trump won the New Hampshire primary on January 23, 2024 with ease, making a rematch against incumbent President Joe Biden inevitable.
Trump bested former United Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. In the last few months, the GOP donor class had been boosting Haley in an effort to revive George W. Bush style neoconservatism within the party.
Prior to this primary, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ended his presidential campaign on January 21, further demonstrating the futility of challenging Trump in 2024.
Trump partisans have called on Haley to bow out of the race prior to the polls closing. However, Haley promised to continue her campaign after the results from the New Hampshire primary came out.
In a speech before her supporters, she continued taking the former president to task. She called into question Trump’s mental sharpness and made the case that she is a unifying candidate that will usher in generational change.
“This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go,” Haley declared.
In winning open races in Iowa and New Hampshire, Trump became the first Republican presidential candidate to win these races. Thai demonstrates his overwhelming popularity among Republican voters who want nothing to do with George W. Bush-style conservatism of yesteryear.
Trump’s nomination to the head of the party is an inevitability at this point. Voters want immigration restriction and a restrained foreign policy — the exact opposite the likes of Nikki Haley are proposing.
Should there be no electoral foul play in the 2024 general election, Trump should re-occupy the White House with relative ease.
