The office of Rep. Luis Guiterrez of Illinois told Big League Politics that the congressman walked out of the State of the Union address to use the bathroom.

Communications director Doug Rivlin made the claim to BLP Wednesday on Capitol Hill, at first stating that Gutierrez needed to prepare for a Univision interview. Rivlin then claimed the congressman needed a bathroom break.

The crowd at the State of the Union was chanting “USA! USA!” as Rep. Guiterrez walked out of the venue.
