First Votes Counted as Polls Close in Parts of Indiana and Kentucky
Parts of Indiana and Kentucky had their polls close at 6:00pm eastern this evening, and so official returns for the 2020 election are starting to stream in.
As of this writing, a dozen counties in Kentucky and six counties in Indiana have begun reporting results. It is very early, but Donald Trump has a significant lead over Joe Biden in those two states. He leads 66.7 to 31.4 percent in Indiana and 69.4 to 29.2 percent in Kentucky.
Trump is expected to win both of these states, but as many have pointed out, the data from these reliably red states could help paint a picture of what might happen in similar areas across the country.
