Flashback: JD Vance Introduces Bill to Prohibit DEI in Government and Federal Contracting

On June 12, 2024, Congressional Republicans put forward a bill that would scrap all diversity, equity, and inclusion positions in the federal government and prevent federal contractors from mandating DEI statements and training sessions.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance and Texas Congressman Michael Cloud introduced the Dismantle DEI Act which would also prevent federal grants from heading towards diversity programs, slashing a key source of support for DEI programs in the medicine and science sectors.

Additional provisions would bar accreditation agencies from mandating DEI in schools and prevent national securities associations, such as NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange, from implementing diversity mandates for corporate boards.

“The DEI agenda is a destructive ideology that breeds hatred and racial division,” Vance said to the Washington Free Beacon. “It has no place in our federal government or anywhere else in our society.”

This legislative package is the most comprehensive program designed to gut DEI programs from the federal government and regulated bodies.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, agencies spanning from NASA and the National Science Foundation to the Internal Revenue Service and the US Army feature some type of diversity training. Tax collectors have been subject to mandatory workshops on “cultural inclusion,” while military commanders have had to take workshops on male pregnancy, and nuclear engineers have had to brainwash on the “roots of white male culture.”

The bill would prohibit these trainings and shut down government DEI offices that carry them out. On top of it, it would ban people laid off by the closures from being transferred or reassigned. This move is designed to prevent diversity from continuing under a different name

The ban, which goes beyond DEi consultants in addition to government officials, would be carried out through a private right of action and could save the federal government billions of dollars.

This legislation is sponsored by Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, Florida  Senator Rick Scott, North Dakota Senator Kevin Kramer, Senator Bill Cassidy, and Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt.

The Dismantle DEI Act has also received support from notable conservative organizations such as Heritage Action and the Claremont Institute.

Opposing DEI measures are good first steps in rolling back the anti-white managerial state that has crystallized since the 1960s. However, this is only just a start because after scrapping DEI measures the next move is to abolish all of the government agencies and edicts established by the Civil Rights Revolution. This is of the essence if we want to restore any symbol of sanity in racial relations in the US. Anything that falls short of this will only perpetuate the many racial problems the US is facing.
