Flashback: Mitt Romney’s Father Was Friendly with Saul Alinsky
In 2012, reports surfaced that the father of Senator-elect Mitt Romney (“R”-Utah), “palled around” with radical leftist organizer Saul Alinsky.
According to T. George Harris’ biography of the late Governor George Romney of Michigan:
“When slum organizer Saul Alinsky, with the West Side Organization’s militant Negroes and clerics, wanted to meet with the white Detroit rulers, Romney indirectly arranged the meeting, and attended. Democratic Mayor Jerome Cavanaugh avoided the rough company.”
“‘I think you ought to listen to Alinsky,'” Romney told his reluctant white friends. ‘It seems to me that we are always talking to the same people. Maybe the time has come to hear new voices.” Said an Episcopal bishop, ‘He made Alinsky sound like a Republican.
A photo of the Sept. 1967 meeting was obtained by BuzzFeed from the Library of Congress:
The pair met in Rochester, N.Y, and can be seen shaking hands, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
Alinksy’s book “Rules for Radicals” has become the playbook for modern progressivism. The primary rule is to accuse your political opponents of what you yourself are doing, a trick which Democrats are using against President Donald J. Trump in the form of the Russian “collusion” investigation.
In fact, one of the Democrats’ most influential proponents of the Russian “collusion” narrative was a Russian troll himself. Not to mention, twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton brokered a deal to sell 20 percent of America’s uranium supply to Russia during her tenure as Secretary of State while Bill Clinton received enormous “speaking fees” to give speeches to the Kremlin.
As soon-to-be Sen. Romney bashes Trump, which will likely be a common occurrence during his tenure in office, keep in mind that Romney runs in the same circle of elite politicians – including Democrats – who nearly destroyed this country before Trump stepped in.
