FLASHBACK: Younger Republicans Are Becoming Less Supportive of Israel According to Polls

According to a Pew Research poll released on April 24, 2019,  younger Republicans are growing less supportive of the state of Israel.

This poll demonstrated that Republicans 65 or older are the only age cohort (57%) that hold a positive view of the Israeli government.

When it comes to young adults — those under the age of 30, only 27% view the Israeli government favorably. In a similar vein, young Republicans hold less favorable views of the Israeli people and more favorable views of the Palestinians than their older counterparts. Close to half of Republicans and Republican leaners under 30 (48%) hold a favorable opinion of the Palesitinians. By contrast, 30% of Republicans 30 and older hold the same view.

When it comes to views of the Israeli government, 61% of Republicans hold a favorable view of it, whereas 32% of Republicans view it unfavorably.  By contrast, two-thirds of Democrats have an unfavorable view of Israel’s government, while only 26% have an unfavorable opinion of it.

Unsurprisingly, Evangelical Christians are the strongest supporters of the Israeli government. 73% of Evangelical Republicans support the Israeli government, while 55% non-Evangelical Republicans hold a favorable opinion about the Israeli government.

Due to the rise of alternative media which has exposed many of the Israeli government’s malfeasances from selling sensitive US  military information to China to its growing anti-Christian sentiment, Israel is beginning to lose support among many Americans. Such trends will likely continue as more people lose faith in the corporate media, which is overwhelmingly pro-Zionist,  and as Israel grows more unhinged due to the rise of the unhinged extreme Right in the country.

The days of the US’s “special relationship” with Israel could be likely numbered in the long-term.
