Florida’s AdventHealth Suspends Employee COVID-19 Shot Mandate for 83,000 Employees

AdventHealth says it will no longer require its 83,000 employees to get vaccinated, Fox News reported.

The announcement by the hospital system suspending all forced COVID shots was made in a memo sent out to employees, who will still be required to report whether their personal decision on the matter.

“Due to recent decisions by the federal courts to block the CMS vaccine mandate, we are suspending the vaccination requirements prescribed by this mandate. We will continue to monitor the ongoing litigation regarding the federal law,” AdventHealth spokesperson Jeff Grainger told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has also sent out a statement in response to AdventHealth’s decision, stating “We welcome AdventHealth’s decision to comply with state law to protect Floridians’ jobs and to ensure our state’s healthcare system can continue functioning smoothly.”

AdventHealth’s decisions to suspend the mandate reportedly came after federal judges in Missouri and Louisiana blocked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services mandate.

While the requirement of forced shots is on hold for now, AdventHealth has continued to push the shot relentlessly.

“Based on scientific evidence and what we see in our hospitals every day, COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at reducing both the risk of becoming infected and the level of harm in the case of a breakthrough infection,” the statement continues.

Dr. Jay Wolfson, professor of public health and associate vice president for health law, policy, and safety at USF Health, said legal battles between states and the federal government over shot mandates put hospitals and other healthcare facilities into a contentious debate.

“What’s at stake here are jobs. What the stake here is patient safety,” said Wolfson. “What’s at stake here is the ability of the federal government to make decisions about patient safety and employee safety based on a regulation that governs reimbursement.”

The news is another blow to continued efforts of the Biden regime to force experimental inoculations on Americans throughout numerous facets of life, coming just days after a Trump-appointed federal judge blocked Joe Biden’s Covid-19 jab mandate for healthcare workers nationwide.
