Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper Claims United States is Using Ukraine as a Geopolitical Pawn Against Russia

In February, Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) and Alexey Stolyarov (Lexus) were able to get former United States Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to admit that the Ukrainians are “doing dirty work” that the United States won’t do in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.

According to a report by Russia state media outlet TASS, the pranksters called Esper on behalf of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and asked Esper for his take on US involvement in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. “The Ukrainian people are doing the dirty work of what we never wanted to do here in the United States, which is why we should continue to support you [Ukraine] with everything we can, whether it’s munitions or arms or intelligence,” Esper remarked. Per Esper, the growth of Russian influence in other countries, which includes Africa, “is a problem” for the US national security state.

On top of that, Esper has manifested concerns that US technology could wind up in the hands of other countries due to arms shipments to Ukraine. He emphasized that it was important for the US to ensure that its technology would not fall into the wrong hands.

Indeed, there’s a consensus among the national security state that Russia is a threat that must be stopped at all costs. However, these geopolitical tinkerers stop short of sending US troops to Ukraine. Instead, they will let young Ukrainians do the dying and have Europe get pummeled on energy affairs. The US comes out the winner here as Europe is more reliant on expensive American liquefied natural gas and continues buying American weapons.
