Former NYC Police Commissioner Blasts NFL Superstar Travis Kelce For Previous Comments on Gun Control

On February 14, 2024, two black males Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays got into a shootout with other attendees of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade. This violent exchange resulted in the death of Lisa Lopez-Galvan — a parade attendee who had no connection to the two males or the people they were confronting — and the wounding of 22 other people.

Miller and Mays are now facing charges of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and the unlawful use of a firearm.

Naturally, this incident provoked calls for additional gun control. Of note, superstar tight end Travis Kelce was not only in the spotlight for his strong playoff performance in the Chief’s championship run, but also for comments he made in 2015. In that instance, Kelce called for the passage of tougher gun control laws in the wake of several shootings taking place in Cleveland.

Kelce said the following at the time:

The [gun violence] rips my heart out. I have to side with LeBron [James] on this one. There needs to be more strict gun laws, especially when toddlers are dying. We can’t have that in our communities, especially when a child’s future is taken away.

Bernard Kerik, a former Police Commissioner of the New York City Police Department who served in that capacity from 2000 to 2001, was critical of Kelce’s past comments when they re-surfaced.  He exclaimed:

What a moron! Stricter gun laws will not prevent those toddlers from dying because the shooters aren’t licensed gun owners. If you don’t want ‘that’ in your communities, then start locking people up for a change. You don’t need stricter gun laws, you need to enforce the ones they have.

It’s unclear if Kerik recognized that Kelce’s comments were from 2015. Nevertheless, Kelce’s profile has risen in stature due to his 9 Pro Bowl appearances and indispensable role in the Chief’s last three Super Bowl victories. Moreover, Kelce’s relationship with world famous singer Taylor Swift has added more to his fame.

After this tragic shooting, Kelce offered his take on the matter:

I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.

Kelce has previously endorsed Pfizer’s controversial vaccine against the Wuhan virus, which demonstrates his willingness to collaborate with the regime on implementing measures that go against Middle American interests. He will likely continue to express his support for regime projects such as gun control given his track record of backing the “current thing.”

While Kelce is well on his way to the NFL Hall of Fame, he’s just another zombie lurking in the hall of shame of regime worship.
