Former Prime Minister Of Israel Pushes for US To Carry Out Regime Change Against Iran

In an op-ed published by the Wall Street Journal, former Israeli Prime Naftali Bennett called for the United States government to lead a regime change effort against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this piece, Bennett called for Israel and its patron, the US, to directly attack Iran, as opposed to attacking its allies such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

On top of that, Bennett revealed in the op-ed that Israel was behind a direct attack on an Iranian drone base in February 2022. Over the last decade, Israel has largely targeted Iranian assets in Syria. However, Bennett’s revelation shows that Israel is escalating its conflict against Iran, with speculation that the US is helping facilitate this controversial geopolitical endeavor.

The 2022 strike was launched against a base close to Kermanshah, which resulted in the destruction of hundreds of Iranian drones per the Israeli media. Bennett also asserted that the Israelis killed an Iran Revolutionary Guard member in their attack on Iranian soil.

According to Jason Ditz of Antiwar.com, this attack allegedly came from Israeli-manned drones flying out of Iraqi Kurdistan. Iranian authorities laid the blame at Israel’s feet for this drone attack. As a response to this attack, the Iranians launched a missile attack against Irbil, an area that is suspected to house an Israeli intelligence base. Media reports claimed that four Israeli officers were killed in the missile attack and injured seven others.

Israel is a malign actor that maintains a parasitic relationship with the US that serves no pressing national interest.

In fact, such a relationship will likely lead to the US having to get dragged into a war with Iran at Israel’s request.

Cooler geopolitical minds would pick up on this and do everything possible to ensure that the US does not end up serving Israeli interests by getting embroiled in a foreign policy quagmire thousands of miles away.
