Gas, Chicken, Beef At All-Time Highs: How This Memorial Day Is Different In Joe Biden’s America
It was just last year when Vice President Kamala Harris was blasted on social media for her infamous “enjoy the long weekend” tweet that never mentioned Memorial Day or the military members who have died protecting the US.

Even at the time, reactions from both sides of the aisles called on the VP to “do better.” Which showed that Americans were already fed up with the administration and its frequent opt-outs for reflecting and admitting any of the nation’s historical triumphs.
So how has the culture evolved since Memorial Day 2021?
While the Biden administration and corporate press continue to shill out for wokeness and left-wing politics, Americans are proving to desire more apolitical institutions that value profits over virtue-signaling and ESG scores.
According to an exclusive Daily Wire poll by Echelon Insights from earlier this week, 58% of respondents said it was a “bad thing” for corporate executives to preach and push for “political or social means.” While only 29% of respondents saw it as a “good thing.”
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, the author of the popular book, Woke Inc., described this phenomenon as neither “a right or left-wing issue.” Arguing that investors are simply fed up with woke capital.
This, of course, makes sense, considering Americans have been paralyzed thanks to record-high inflation, soaring gas prices, and cost increases across virtually all industries.
Things have gotten so bad that consumers have had Memorial Weekend travels impacted severely, resulting in altered or even canceled plans. The cost of beef and chicken is also at all-time highs.
“Record-high meat prices are having a chilling effect on summer-grilling demand in the US,” Bloomberg reported. “With costs for ground beef and chicken breasts at all-time highs, consumers have few alternatives to switch to different proteins — so some may skip them entirely.”
Moreover, Americans have started thinking more critically about whom they give their money to. Ditching corporations that have chosen to focus on woke content and programming in an attempt to both tighten budgets and vote with their wallets against anti-American institutions.
Hollywood is reacting. As they have been forced to change their tune in recent months regarding the kinds of projects they fund and release to the public. The latest blockbuster, Top Gun: Maverick, is a perfect example. Considering it is so pro-America that China and Russia won’t even air it.
Global totals for the fan favorite are still expected to exceed $275 million.
Netflix has been another great example, as the streaming giant has taken a “hardline stance” in a new “culture memo” against woke employees who publicly voiced grievances over the content they deemed “harmful.”
As a result, the company has pulled the plug on Ibram X. Kendi’s show, “Antiracist Baby,” amongst other titles. Including the feminist animated series from Meghan Markle.
Netflix has canceled 3 more animated projects:
– Wings of Fire
– Antiracist Baby
– With Kind Regards From Kindergartenhttps://t.co/08l769cDGV pic.twitter.com/XsAsIe1Fk3— Cartoon Crave (@thecartooncrave) May 17, 2022
All in all, the culture is different from what it was a year ago.
Institutions are losing power and profits, hence why they are distancing themselves from woke programming as Americans prove time and time again that they care far more about the economy than left-wing politics that have flooded the media and its messaging in recent years.
The tide is turning – and so are American priorities. Each of these examples is a great litmus test for what the nation is focusing on. And no, none of the above are Putin’s fault – regardless of what the White House would like you to believe.
Fortunately, Americans are seeing through the smokescreens and mirrors.
