GOP Establishment is BIG MAD Over J.D. Vance’s Senate Primary Win in Ohio

The Republican Party establishment is seething over populist upstart J.D. Vance’s U.S. Senate primary victory in Ohio last night.

Vance won the primary after receiving an endorsement from President Donald Trump, which caused him to surge past a glut of competitors. He will go on to face Democrat contender Tim Ryan in November’s midterm elections.

Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich credited Vance, who “put in tremendous work and has immense political talent — which put him in the position to earn the support of President Trump,” but noted that Trump is the kingmaker these days in Republican Party politics.

“The power of President Trump’s endorsement is undeniable, his dominance over the Republican powerbrokers in D.C. cannot be overstated, and the promise of this MAGA Movement will not just define the midterms, but it will win for years to come,” Budowich said to Axios.

Vance’s opposition to the GOP establishment orthodoxy on the issue of War in Ukraine set him apart from his competitors and shows that non-interventionism is the clear path forward in the nascent America First Republican Party that is being remade in Trump’s image.

“It was a pivotal moment in solidifying the view of J.D. as a fighter by the base and some of the most important media voices on the right,” a source told Axios of Vance’s staunch non-interventionist position on Ukraine.

Before Vance won the Trump endorsement, he earned the enthusiastic support of popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr. This shows how rejecting the failed neoconservative consensus on foreign policy can unite the America First base and achieve victory in Republican politics:

Vance doubled down on the populism that won him the nomination to U.S. Senate during his victory speech on Tuesday night.

“We’re going to do battle against an establishment left that thinks that people’s jobs, that thinks that people’s values, that thinks that people’s basic livelihoods and sense of dignity in their own country is not something worth protecting,” Vance said.

“He says that he cares about us here in Ohio,” Vance added of his Democrat U.S. Senate competitor, Tim Ryan. “But he refuses to fight his own party when they have flooded the state of Ohio with illegal drugs and sex traffickers. Ladies and gentlemen, Tim Ryan needs to go down, and we’re going to be the party that does that.”

The Republican Party will have to unite around nationalist America First principles, or it will die a much-deserved death. That begins on foreign policy and rejecting the endless war agenda of the Washington D.C. swamp.
