GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis Follows Democrat Orders, Locks Down Florida After Media Pressure Campaign

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statewide shelter order on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in response to the Wuhan Virus pandemic.

“I’m going to be doing an executive order today directing all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside the home to only those necessary,” he stated. “To obtain or provide essential services or conduct essential activities.”

DeSantis’s order will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Friday and will last for 30 days.

If any “essential service” was missed in the initial executive order, the governor says it can be tacked on.

DeSantis claimed he consulted with the White House and had a conversation with President Donald Trump about the decision. He noted that the White House Wuhan Virus task force’s extended guidelines from Tuesday night shaped DeSantis’ decision, describing the president’s move a “national pause.”

“We’re going to be in this for another 30 days,” he declared. “At this point, even though there’s a lot of places in Florida that have very low infection rates, it makes sense to make this move now.”

DeSantis has taken advantage of this situation by pushing forward infrastructure programs. The Florida governor ordered that $2.1 billion in transportation projects be accelerated. These projects include the Howard Frankland bridge project in Tampa Bay.

Sadly, it appears that the Florida Governor has capitulated to Democrat demands to shut down the entire state, even though the Democrat cities infested with the disease are already on lock down. Thirteen left-wing members of Congress led by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz lead a media campaign by signing a letter to the governor earlier this week calling for him to issue the order.

The Wuhan Virus saga demonstrates the unforeseen costs of globalization, where basic civil liberties have to be suspended due to the problems that globalist policies cause.

Mass migration and free trade come with lots of hidden costs and increase the likelihood of generalized crises like the Wuhan Virus pandemic to occur.
