Harvard President Claudine Gay is Forced to Resign After Plagiarism Allegations

On January 2, 2024, Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned after pressure by conservative figures who placed great scrutiny on her academic career.

Reviews by Harvard discover several issues with Gay’s academic citations, which includes multiple cases of “duplicative language.” The university reached the conclusion that the errors “were not considered intentional or reckless” and were not tantamount to misconduct. However, the allegations continued piling up, with a fresh set emerging on January 1.

Conservatives have been targeting Gay due to her congressional testimony dealing with anti-semitism on campus. Gay’s opponents argued, based on Gay’s sketchy academic practices, that Gay received her position largely due to how she is a black woman.

Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist who organized the conservative push to probe Gay’s academic record, was ecstatic about her resignation. He viewed it as a victory in his campaign against university institutions. On X, the social media company formerly known as Twitter, he posted “SCALPED.”.

“Tomorrow, we get back to the fight,” he declared on X.

“We must not stop until we have abolished DEI ideology from every institution in America,” he proclaimed. In another post, he announced a new “plagiarism hunting fund,” vowing to “expose the rot in the Ivy League and restore truth, rather than racialist ideology, as the highest principle in academic life.”

In a recently published New York Times opinion editorial, Gay conceded that she made several mistakes.

She noted that her published work included passages where “some material duplicated other scholars’ language, without proper attribution.” But she asserted that she never had claimed credit for other individuals’ work, and she stands firmly behind by her original research. During the December congressional hearing that kicked of the major wave of conservative criticism, she stated, “I neglected to clearly articulate that calls for the genocide of Jewish people are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Gay’s exit comes only six months after becoming the first black president at Harvard. Prominent figures such as New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and billionaire Bill Ackman called for Gay’s resignation.

Given Gay’s suspect academic behavior, it’s very likely that she assumed the presidency at Harvard through an affirmative action program. That’s the nature of woke America, where non-whites receive institutional privileges at legacy Americans’ expense.

At the same, Gay’s ouster demonstrates the power of  the Jewish lobby and other pro-Zionist groups who desire complete subservience  to Israel as their primary political goal.

It remains to be seen, with Gay out of the picture, If Harvard will revert to merit-based educational standards and move away from DEI schemes. After all, if American politics has taught us anything, pro-Zionist lobbies’ interests are privileged to that of the Historic American Nation.

We could very well see Gay replaced by an anti-white successor who will maintain DEI but also not challenge Israel.
