House Holds Former Trump COS Mark Meadows in Contempt of Congress for Declining Sham Subpoena

The House of Representatives voted to hold former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in contempt of Congress on Tuesday night, seeking to criminally punish the former Republican Congressman for declining to appear before a charade hearing of the hack-partisan-slop January 6th Committee.
The House passed a contempt measure by 222-208, with progressive Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger voting with the Democrats to hold Meadows in contempt.
The Democratic Party has sought to fixate the national political dialogue on a raucous protest that occurred outside Congress in January, seemingly in an attempt and distract and deflect from every single flaming dumpster fire policy failure of the feckless Joe Biden presidential administration.
Meadows is somehow accused of masterminding the January 6th event, with Democrats fixating upon a few text messages he sent the same day. Meadows had entertained a fever dream that Vice President Mike Pence was going to overturn the certification of electoral college votes, but there’s no evidence to suggest he directed anyone to trespass in the Capitol or to become violent with Capitol police officers.
The contempt measure is now in the hands of the Department of Justice. It’s been decades since anyone was successfully criminally prosecuted for contempt of Congress, with such cases usually involving specific lies to Congress rather than declining to hear for a deposition. The Department of Justice railroaded an indictment of Steve Bannon last month, hoping to criminally prosecute him for the same “crime” Meadows is supposedly responsible for.
The Democratic Congress is expected to continue a fixation on reality show political slop, utterly ignoring illegal immigration, inflation, the dismal economy, raising prices, the Afghanistan disaster, coronavirus, and the plethora of serious policy matters facing the American public. In hundreds of years, historians will describe the United States as a decaying empire with “leaders” that deserved its fate.
