House Progressive Caucus Retracts Letter Urging for Biden Regime to Pursue Peace in Russia/Ukraine Conflict

In a remarkable display of abject cowardice, the House Progressive Caucus has retracted a letter urging for the Biden administration to pursue peaceful negotiations between Russia and Ukraine – just 24 hours after issuing the letter.

“The letter was drafted several months ago, but unfortunately was released by staff without vetting,” said Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), making a pathetic excuse to withdraw the letter.

Jayapal made it clear in further comments that playing partisan politics against the Republicans is more important to her and her caucus than stopping World War 3.

“The letter sent yesterday has been conflated with GOP opposition to support for the Ukrainians’ just defense of their national sovereignty. As such, it is a distraction at this time and we withdraw the letter,” she said.

The initial letter contained common sense prescriptions for foreign policy with regards to Russia and Ukraine. It was written in a very moderate tone, praising the Biden administration’s overall while calling for a less belligerent approach in handling the conflict.

“Given the destruction created by this war for Ukraine and the world, as well as the risk of catastrophic escalation, we also believe it is in the interests of Ukraine, the United States, and the world to avoid a prolonged conflict. For this reason, we urge you to pair the military and economic support the United States has provided to Ukraine with a proactive diplomatic push, redoubling efforts to seek a realistic framework for a ceasefire,” the House Progressive Caucus letter stated.

“If there is a way to end the war while preserving a free and independent Ukraine, it is America’s responsibility to pursue every diplomatic avenue to support such a solution that is acceptable to the people of Ukraine. Such a framework would presumably include incentives to end hostilities, including some form of sanctions relief, and bring together the international community to establish security guarantees for a free and independent Ukraine that are acceptable for all parties, particularly Ukrainians,” the letter added.

These sentiments enraged the White House and many Congressional Democrats. The House Progressives caved immediately, showing that their principles are flimsy, and that there is no resistance to the War Party any longer within the modern psychotic far-left Democrat Party.

“Let me be clear: we are united as Democrats in our unequivocal commitment to supporting Ukraine in their fight for their democracy and freedom in the face of the illegal and outrageous Russian invasion, and nothing in the letter advocates for a change in that support,” Jayapal said.

No wonder Tulsi Gabbard walked away. The Democrats are less a political party than a civilizational death cult these days. They must be defeated and tossed into the ashbin of history as soon as possible before they can do more damage at home and abroad.
