Human Smuggler Kills Two People in High Speed Car Chase in Southern Texas

A crash on December 11, 2021 in Mission, Texas resulted in the death of two civilians after a suspected human smuggler ran a stop sign and crashed into the victims’ car.
According to James Anthony of The Post Millennial, law enforcement took the smuggling suspect, an 18-year old male who was driving the vehicle, into custody at the scene of the collision. In addition, six migrants were placed into custody.
Charges are expected to be pressed and the victims’ families are being notified as we speak.
The Southern Texas border region has witnessed a notable surge in these types of cases over the past year.
According to a piece by ProPublica, on average, there is a car crash in this area every 9 days, which are often fatal in nature due to the fact that they are high speed chases.
“In the last four years alone, along the U.S. side of the border, at least 250 people were injured and 22 died after a Border Patrol pursuit,” reported Propublica. The report added that “the database is almost certainly an undercount — it does not include cases in which the driver got away or died, since the complaints are filed only after arrests. It also does not include pursuits for other crimes, including drug smuggling.”
One of the most shocking car crash incidents took place on October 3, 2021, which involved a renowned TikTok personality, who was engaging in human smuggling. The high-speed pursuit ended with the driver losing control of the car and crashing. The smuggler did not survive the collision.
More incidents of this nature will occur if the border remains porous. Mass migration is more than just slogans about diversity and movement of people that boosts the GDP. It has a real world impact that negatively affects everyday Americans.
