Ilhan Omar: I ‘Stand in Solidarity’ with Islamic Revolutionaries Working to Take Over Syria

Omar evidently supports former President Barack Obama’s policy of supporting terror groups in Syria to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) often advertises herself as a critic of US foreign policy, but when it comes to the CIA’s plan to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and replace him with Islamic extremists, she is completely on board.

Omar released the following Tweet on Friday celebrating the CIA-backed revolution in Syria against Assad:

While Omar likes to frame the Syrian civil war as the “people of Syria” rising up to demand “a more just and free government,” the actual truth of the matter is far more nefarious and sinister. Under the rule of President Barack Hussein Obama, terrorist groups in Syria were receiving funds and weapons from the US government to overthrow Assad in the nation.

While Obama assured us all that he was only giving weapons and aid to “moderate terrorists” in the region, the weapons ultimately ended up in the hands of ISIS.

NBC News reported on the predictable results of Obama’s policies to subsidize Muslim extremists in Syria:

Some weapons bought by the U.S. military in 2015 ended up in the hands of Islamic State fighters within two months, according to a report released Thursday.

The findings, by Conflict Armament Research (CAR), an independent arms-tracking organization, are based on three years of meticulous documentation of weapons recovered from ISIS on the battlefields of Iraq and Syria.

CAR found that one anti-tank missile sold to the U.S. Army made its way to ISIS in just 59 days.

“This is extremely short,” said Damien Spleeters, the group’s researcher for Iraq and Syria, told NBC News during a recent field visit to Tal Afar, Iraq. “It means that there are not many intermediaries in this chain of custody.”

Under at least two different programs, the U.S. government has supplied weapons to Syrian armed groups, first to fight the Assad regime and then to assist the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the fight against the Islamic State. Some of ISIS’ weapons are also thought to have been pilfered from military stockpiles while others were purchased illicitly.

President Donald Trump reversed these policies after assuming office, and ISIS was destroyed almost instantly. The secular Assad regime, which gives harbor to Christians against Islamic persecution, has been strengthened as a result, but Omar does not seem pleased that her Islamic radical co-horts have been repelled.

This is not surprising considering that Omar has made comments expressing sympathy for ISIS and their sympathizers in recent years.

‘The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion,’ Omar wrote in an impassioned letter to US District Judge Michael Davis urging leniency for an ISIS-sympathizing Muslim terrorist from Minnesota.

“We must alter our attitude and approach; if we truly want to effect change, we should refocus our efforts on inclusion and rehabilitation,” Omar added in the letter she wrote back in 2016.

Rep. Omar has also expressed frustration in how Al Queda is addressed with a negative connotation by Western academics.

Either wittingly or unwittingly, Rep. Omar is supporting Muslim extremism domestically as well as abroad. An individual with her values belongs nowhere near public office in the United States or any Western nation.

The FBI has arrested two men and charged them with planning terrorist attacks on locations such as New York’s Trump Tower in support of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Kristopher Sean Matthews of South Carolina and Jaylyn Christopher Molina of Texas have been charged with conspiring to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Matthews adopted the pseudonym Ali Jibreel, and Molina the name Abdur Rahim.

The pair allegedly plotted to attack government facilities and New York’s Trump Tower, discussing their plans in jihadist chatrooms. They were busted by federal informants within these honeypots.

We need to stick together, we need to defeat them, we need to take a lot of casualties,” said Molina of the pair’s plotting. Molina spoke of his allegiance to ISIS in the server. “You are my enemy (America) and never will I wear your flag … but I will raise the black flag of Allah.

They also spoke of the proposition of traveling to Syria in order to fight for ISIS, an idea that would’ve almost certainly resulted in their quick capture or death. American citizens caught fighting for ISIS on foreign battlefields have proven to be a legal nightmare for American military and civil law to manage.

Both were arrested on Monday. They face a maximum penalty of twenty years in prison, with a lifetime of supervised release.

These clowns didn’t get very far in actually planning acts of violence in support of ISIS, and they seem to have somewhat missed the boat- ISIS has largely been defeated by American-backed Kurdish militias and the Iraqi and Syrian governments. But they deserve punishment nonetheless.
