Illinois Democratic Governor Subsidizes, Mandates ‘Gender Affirming Surgeries’ Covered by Medicare

Gov. J.B. Pritzker believes that taxpayer-subsidized genital mutilation surgery will help the LGBT community “lead safe and healthy lives.”

The Democratic Party is encouraging more individuals to mutilate their genitals for supposed gender transition surgery, with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker issuing an edict that the procedure will soon be covered by Medicare in his state.

“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and I’m committed to ensuring our LGBTQ community and all Illinoisans have access to that right,” Pritzker said.

The extreme liberals at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are firmly in Pritzker’s corner as he effectively subsidizes mental illness with his declaration.

“We welcome Governor Pritzker’s announcement that Illinois will cover gender affirming surgery under its Medicaid program. This is a crucial step to respond to the health care needs of all Illinois residents, including those who are transgender,” said John Knight, LGBTQ and HIV Advocacy Director for the ACLU of Illinois.

“By putting an end to this outdated exclusion on gender affirming surgery, Illinois now joins a long and growing list of states providing coverage for this critical, life-saving health care. We applaud the Governor for making this important step forward,” he added.

The rule is expected to go into effect this summer, and Pritzker claims without evidence that his unilateral decision will help public health.

“Expanding Medicaid to cover gender affirming surgeries is cost effective, helps avoid long term health consequences, and most importantly is the right thing to do. With continued attacks coming from Washington, this administration will always stand with our transgender community and their right to lead safe and healthy lives,” he said.

In actuality, Pritzker’s decision will encourage more individuals to engage in a lifestyle that is incredibly dangerous. Transgender individuals commit suicide at epidemic rates, and other hygienic factors underline the ghastly nature of this rising social movement.

Reuters issued a shocking report last year detailing the frequency of suicide attempts by transgender individuals:

Transgender adolescents are far more likely to attempt suicide than teens whose identity matches what it says on their birth certificates, and trans male youth are especially at risk, a U.S. study suggests.

Roughly half of transgender teens who identify as male but were assigned a female gender at birth have attempted suicide at least once, the study found. And 42 percent of adolescents who don’t identify exclusively as male or female have at least one prior suicide attempt.

About 30 percent of trans female teens – who identify as female but have birth certificates that label them as male – have tried suicide at least once, as have 28 percent of adolescents who are questioning their gender identity, the study also found.

In contrast to all of these groups of transgender teens, just 18 percent of females and 10 percent of males who are cisgender – meaning their gender identity matches what it says on their birth certificate – have attempted suicide.

“Our findings are startling,” said study leader Russell Toomey of the University of Arizona in Tucson.

“Previous studies had already demonstrated that transgender teens reported higher levels of suicidal behavior compared to cisgender adolescents, but our study is the first to go beyond this type of crude comparison to examine whether there are critical differences in suicidal behavior within transgender youth populations,” Toomey said by email.

“While all four transgender subgroups reported higher levels compared to cisgender female and male youth, it is important for targeted prevention and intervention efforts to know that transmasculine and nonbinary trans youth are at higher risk,” Toomey added.

Pritzker hasn’t specified whether children will also be subsidized to have genital mutilation performed on them under his new policy. With liberals now pushing transgenderism on kids as young as eight years old, it is certainly a real possibility. The well-being of children is under serious threat as long as Democrats like Pritzker remain in power.

Students Sue School District After Being Punished for ‘Racist’ Banter in Private Snapchat Group

A witch hunt was started against the students for alleged racism.

A group of students has filed a free speech lawsuit in Saline, Mich. alleging that their civil rights were violated by school administrators who punished them for their banter in a private Snapchat group.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in U.S. District Court in Detroit on behalf of four anonymous students, who were punished by the school district following a hysteria regarding racism after they sent joking messages in a chat room. The lawsuit alleges that two students were suspended as a result of their out-of-school speech while two others have been recommended for expulsion.

“The school is acting outside the scope of its authority, has no legal right to impose the discipline carried out, and has violated our clients’ constitutional rights by their reckless and hasty rush to judgment,” lawyer David A. Kallman, the attorney for the children, said in a statement.

The lawsuit claims that the school district has no jurisdiction to punish the children based on messages sent from their “homes, privately owned phones, on a non-school day.”

The students want the district to admit in a declaration that their actions were an infringement upon the students’ 1st Amendment rights. They also want the school district to formalize changes to their rules so other students’ rights are not similarly violated and for the students’ records and transcripts to be completely expunged moving forward.

Saline Superintendent Scot Graden called the private Snapchat postings that were brought to his attention “an act of racism that created harm to all of our students, especially students of color.” Kallman believes that he overreacted and took the messages out of their proper context.

“African-American and Caucasian children were using inappropriate and offensive language in a joking manner and in the context of immature banter among friends,” Kallman said in his news release about the case.

“The conversation did not occur at the school, at a school event, or on any school equipment. While all the children are embarrassed by their language, it does not justify the school’s rush to judgment and overreaction,” he added.

Kallman believes that this is a matter for parents to deal with and out of the jurisdiction of public school bureaucrats who want to push their left-wing values onto students.

“If a child gets stopped for drunk driving on a Saturday night, does the school have the right to expel that student? The answer is obvious. No,” Kallman wrote. “The conversation of these children had nothing to do with the school. It has no authority to discipline students for out of school misbehavior.”

Graden, the Saline Area Schools Board of Education, Assistant Superintendent Steve Laatsch, Saline High School Principal David Raft, Saline High School Assistant Principal and football coach Joe Palka, Assistant Principal Theresa Stager, Director of Student Services Molly Garcia, and Assistant Principal Kirk Evenson are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

A Saline high school football player released a threatening video in the midst of the controversy warning all those who support free speech that they are “outnumbered.” It has since become a rallying cry for the social justice warriors in the city to impose their anti-constitutional agenda.

“From all the people that believe in change to all the people who don’t: You’re outnumbered,” the student said in his video address.

The lawsuit hopes to push back against the diversity and tolerance mob and achieve a victory for the 1st Amendment against a leftist-dominated school system that is notoriously hostile to constitutional principles.
