Illinois Democratic Governor Subsidizes, Mandates ‘Gender Affirming Surgeries’ Covered by Medicare

The Democratic Party is encouraging more individuals to mutilate their genitals for supposed gender transition surgery, with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker issuing an edict that the procedure will soon be covered by Medicare in his state.
“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and I’m committed to ensuring our LGBTQ community and all Illinoisans have access to that right,” Pritzker said.
The extreme liberals at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are firmly in Pritzker’s corner as he effectively subsidizes mental illness with his declaration.
“We welcome Governor Pritzker’s announcement that Illinois will cover gender affirming surgery under its Medicaid program. This is a crucial step to respond to the health care needs of all Illinois residents, including those who are transgender,” said John Knight, LGBTQ and HIV Advocacy Director for the ACLU of Illinois.
“By putting an end to this outdated exclusion on gender affirming surgery, Illinois now joins a long and growing list of states providing coverage for this critical, life-saving health care. We applaud the Governor for making this important step forward,” he added.
The rule is expected to go into effect this summer, and Pritzker claims without evidence that his unilateral decision will help public health.
“Expanding Medicaid to cover gender affirming surgeries is cost effective, helps avoid long term health consequences, and most importantly is the right thing to do. With continued attacks coming from Washington, this administration will always stand with our transgender community and their right to lead safe and healthy lives,” he said.
In actuality, Pritzker’s decision will encourage more individuals to engage in a lifestyle that is incredibly dangerous. Transgender individuals commit suicide at epidemic rates, and other hygienic factors underline the ghastly nature of this rising social movement.
Reuters issued a shocking report last year detailing the frequency of suicide attempts by transgender individuals:
Transgender adolescents are far more likely to attempt suicide than teens whose identity matches what it says on their birth certificates, and trans male youth are especially at risk, a U.S. study suggests.
Roughly half of transgender teens who identify as male but were assigned a female gender at birth have attempted suicide at least once, the study found. And 42 percent of adolescents who don’t identify exclusively as male or female have at least one prior suicide attempt.
About 30 percent of trans female teens – who identify as female but have birth certificates that label them as male – have tried suicide at least once, as have 28 percent of adolescents who are questioning their gender identity, the study also found.
In contrast to all of these groups of transgender teens, just 18 percent of females and 10 percent of males who are cisgender – meaning their gender identity matches what it says on their birth certificate – have attempted suicide.
“Our findings are startling,” said study leader Russell Toomey of the University of Arizona in Tucson.
“Previous studies had already demonstrated that transgender teens reported higher levels of suicidal behavior compared to cisgender adolescents, but our study is the first to go beyond this type of crude comparison to examine whether there are critical differences in suicidal behavior within transgender youth populations,” Toomey said by email.
“While all four transgender subgroups reported higher levels compared to cisgender female and male youth, it is important for targeted prevention and intervention efforts to know that transmasculine and nonbinary trans youth are at higher risk,” Toomey added.
Pritzker hasn’t specified whether children will also be subsidized to have genital mutilation performed on them under his new policy. With liberals now pushing transgenderism on kids as young as eight years old, it is certainly a real possibility. The well-being of children is under serious threat as long as Democrats like Pritzker remain in power.
