In Rare Endorsement, Trump Ally Rand Paul Taps Jeff Moore for Congress
In a rare endorsement, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has announced his support for Jeff Moore in North Carolina’s special election for the 3rd Congressional District.
“We need a new generation of conservative leaders who will fight to defend the principles that made our country great. Jeff Moore is the clear choice for conservatives who want to help President Trump drain the swamp,” said Senator Paul.
Despite taking heat for not supporting President Donald J. Trump’s national emergency to build the wall, Paul is perhaps Trump’s closest ally in the Senate. The pair have worked together extremely well during Trump’s first term.
Moore is a strong Constitutional conservative and supporter of Trump’s agenda, particularly in the arena of border security and free market capitalism.
His website describes him as a “geopolitical risk consultant, writer, editor, and a champion of the principles of liberty, limited government, and the American idea.”
Moore is the editor-in-chief of First in Freedom Daily, a North Carolina political news website.
“I am honored and humbled to earn the support and endorsement of Sen. Rand Paul as we work to advance the cause of liberty,” Moore told Big League Politics by email. “I’m proud to stand with Rand, and all champions of the American idea, at a time when the Constitution and our core principles are under unprecedented attacks from the Left. We must all come to the defense of President Donald Trump in his efforts to Make America Great Again, and go on offense to reclaim America as founded. I’m ready to join Rand in that fight, and emboldened knowing that he stands with me.”
Moore is battling several Republicans in a heavily red district to fill the seat formerly held by the late Walter Johnson.
