Joe Biden LIES About Manchin and Sinema in Tulsa

This past Tuesday, Joe Biden gave a speech in Tulsa, Oklahoma to mark the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa riots. During the speech, Biden attempted to explain to the crowd why he has not been able to pass federal legislation that would effectively nationalize and weaken the security of future elections.

Biden’s excuse? Two Democrat senators, ostensibly Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), were supposedly voting more with Republicans than they are Democrats.

Biden complained, “I hear all the folks on TV saying why doesn’t Biden get this done? Well, because Biden only has a majority of effectively four votes in the House and a tie in the Senate, with two members of the Senate who vote more with my Republican friends. But we’re not giving up.”

There’s only one problem, Biden’s statements are outright falsehoods.

Examination of Manchin and Sinema’s voting records indicate that the two senators have actually voted in favor of every Biden-backed bill.

What Biden likely meant to lambast the two senators for is their opposition to abolishing the filibuster, which prevents the Democrats from pushing any legislation they desire on the country without first securing 60 votes in the Senate.

Biden has largely changed his stance on the Fillibuster, having previously argued for years that it is essential to ensuring compromise and moderation.

According to liberal journalist Glenn Greenwald, the true opposition to Biden does not lie with just Manchin and Sinema, but some quieter members of the party as well.

Tragically, this lie is only one of many told by Biden.
