Joe Biden: “We Lose Everything” If Donald Trump Comes Out Victorious in 2024
During a fundraising campaign on December 19, 2023, in Bethesda, Maryland, President Joe Biden warned about the dangers of former President Donald Trump winning re-election in 2024.
“Every head of state I’ve come in contact with has said ‘you’ve got to win, you’ve got to win.’ It’s less about me, unfortunately, I think than about the other guy,” Biden said to donors at the event.
“If we lose, we lose everything,” he continued.
The Biden campaign has come to grips with the political reality that Trump is going to easily win the nomination, which has compelled the campaign team to excessively focus on the alleged threat that Trump poses.
The president has stated repeatedly that the country’s democratic system is at risk of being destabilized. Despite these constant fearmongering tactics, Trump has closed the distance with Biden at the polls, if not outright beating him.
Biden gave this speech a few moments prior to the release of a Colorado Supreme Court decision that took Trump off the state’s presidential primary ballot in 2024 due to his alleged role in fomenting the January 6, 2021, storming of the United States Capitol.
The incumbent president compared some of Trump’s rhetoric to that of Nazi Germany, informing donors about Trump’s remarks about illegal alien invaders “poisoning the blood” of the nation, and stated that the former president used the state “for revenge and retribution against his enemies.”
If Democrats come out on top in 2024 they can claim they saved American democracy, he stated.
“The alternative is stark,” Biden declared. “We can’t let this happen. Or God knows where he’ll take us.”
On top of that, Biden informed donors that Trump was “embracing his old pal” when he recently quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin on the campaign trail. Trump stated that his multiple indictments and legal problems demonstrate “the rottenness of the American political system,” alluding to remarks made by Putin in September.
“It’s no surprise. After all, there’s a lot of agreement between Moscow and Mar-a-Lago,” Biden declared, making a reference to Trump’s Florida residence.
Biden is clearly scared of Trump based on the recent set of polling that shows the former president beating the incumbent. According to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, Trump is beating Biden by 5 percentage points among registered voters in a hypothetical presidential showdown across seven swing states.
Trump is the most credible threat to the political establishment in large part due to his support for patriotic immigration reform, a restrained foreign policy, and economic nationalism. For that reason, Democrats will try to keep him off the ballot and do everything possible to capsize his campaign.
