Joe Rogan: To Deny Border Crime Is ‘Foolish’
Podcaster Joe Rogan offered a practical take on the government shutdown, which is predicated on President Donald Trump’s demand for $5.7 billion in funding for the southern border Wall.
Trump reserves the national emergency option to build the Wall using Department of Defense resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, but so far has not used that option. If Democrats feel that Trump is not likely to use this leverage, his leverage would decrease. Trump is also looking at other options to fund the Wall, sending his Cabinet secretaries on a search for Wall funds.
Rogan said that ideally he would like a situation where people are able to go anywhere without a passport, but he gave a strong statement on border crime.
“I get the argument. Certainly you don’t want to bring in criminals and murderers. You don’t want drug dealers making their way into this country and starting gang violence and all that stuff. Yes, you’re absolutely right. To deny that is pretty f—ing foolish,” Rogan said.
