John Bolton Wants Potential 2024 Presidential Run to be Focused on Purging the GOP of Trumpian Influence

Former national security adviser John Bolton recently announced that he will likely throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential election.

In a “Good Morning Britain” interview on January 6, 2022, the foreign policy hawk stated “I wouldn’t run as a vanity candidate. If I didn’t think I could run seriously then I wouldn’t get in the race.” Bolton added: “I would get in to win the nomination and I would do it primarily on the basis that we need a much stronger foreign policy.”

Bolton is convinced that he can feat former President Donald Trump, his former boss and the key figure in making him publicly relevant again. The former national security adviser believes Trump is experiencing a “terminal decline” in terms of the number of supporters he boasts.

“I think Trump’s support within the party itself is in terminal decline,” Bolton proclaimed. “I wouldn’t run as a vanity candidate. If I didn’t think I could run seriously, then I wouldn’t get in the race.”

Back in December, Bolton went on NBC to talk about Trump and why Republican candidates should distance themselves from him. Bolton stressed that if Republicans don’t sufficiently criticize Trump and break away from his influence he would consider running as a presidential candidate in 2024.

“If I don’t see that, I’m going to seriously consider getting in,” Bolton declared in the NBC interview. Bolton added: “I think to be a presidential candidate you can’t just say, ‘I support the Constitution.’ You have to say, ‘I would oppose people who would undercut it.'”

Curiously, Tyler Durden of ZeroHedge noted that Bolton had backtracked on his presidential ambitions in 2024.

After Bolton’s appearance on British TV, The Washington Times reported, “The British network took his comments as confirmation Mr. Bolton would launch a bid, though his team said that is inaccurate.”

Thus far, there hasn’t been an official statement made by Bolton about a presidential run in 2024. Nevertheless, Bolton is a fixture of the DC establishment. He is a warhawk of the highest order who wants confrontation or regime change in countries such as China, Iran, Russia, Syria, and Venezuela.

If the GOP is to move in a more nationalist direction that is centered around a non-interventionist/realist perspective, it must purge the likes of John Bolton from its ranks. Bolton and similar interventionist parasites only serve the military-industrial complex and the foreign affairs make-work apparatus.

These people cannot be persuaded and brought to learn about the errors of their ways.  They ultimately must be humiliated and ostracized from polite society.
