Kelli Ward: Arizona Does Not ‘Want Another Senator’ Like Flake or McCain

An America First candidate for U.S. Senate in Arizona bashed establishment GOP holdovers Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) in a recent Fox News interview.

“No one here wants another Senator in the mold of Jeff Flake or John McCain,” said Dr. Kelli Ward. “Unfortunately, one of my opponents is just that.”

Ward was referring to Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ), who is not a champion for President Donald J. Trump, but rather for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his establishment cronies in the D.C swamp.

“Allies of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell dove into the middle of a major Senate race Thursday, airing ads to help remake Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) as a border hawk ahead of her August primary with two prominent immigration hard-liners,” wrote Politico in June.

As Big League Politics reported:

McSally is anything but a “border hawk.” She only recently dropped her support for granting legal status to law-breaking DACA recipients in an attempt to curry favor with America First supporters of President Donald J. Trump.  Further, she has been completely noncommittal on building a border wall, Trump’s wildly popular policy proposal which cascaded him into the White House.

“McSally changed her stance on immigration reform and on her views of President Trump. As a Congresswoman, she voted for amnesty on several occasions, refusing to support Trump’s proposed border wall. She also opposed the president’s “America First” immigration proposals,” said the Daily Minera local Arizona paper.

On the open borders front, McSally is a favorite of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, known for their amnesty support. She won the organization’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award, which she bragged about on her official House webpage.

“It’s clear that there are three candidates out there, but there’s only one choice for the people of Arizona if they want an America First champion who’s going to build the wall, repeal Obamacare, to grow the economy, to cut spending, to build our military to full strength so that we have peace through strength, and to take care of our veterans – and that’s Dr. Kelli Ward,” Ward said in the Fox interview.

“We have a chance to have an actual conservative from Arizona,” she said. “I think it might be our last chance for decades, if ever, to have somebody that’s conservative in the Senate from our state.”

Ward also slammed the GOP establishment and #NeverTrump Republicans for spending campaign funds to fight against her instead of the Democrat candidate in the race.

When amnesty-pushing, Chamber of Commerce-owned Fox News tried to disparage Ward by showing a political ad in which she used a cut-out from a 2017 Trump tweet praising her candidacy, Ward used the opportunity highlight the similarities between Flake and McSally.

The Tweet was as much about bashing Flake as it was about supporting Ward’s candidacy.

“We all know that my opponent is Jeff Flake 2.0, maybe even worse,” she said. “If the president was happy that I was running against flake Jeff Flake, then I’m certain he’ll be happy if I’m the Republican nominee and go on to help him to work for the America First agenda in Washington D.C. in the U.S. Senate.
