Liberal Mob Forms Human Chain to Prevent ICE From Detaining Illegal Immigrant in Tennessee

An illegal immigrant was protected from detention by a liberal mob in Nashville, TN who formed a human chain around the lawbreaker in order to stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from apprehending him outside of his home.

ICE officers were eventually forced to retreat to deescalate the situation. They had attempted to pull over the illegal immigrant while he was driving alongside his 12-year-old child. He refused to comply, and then drove to his domicile in the Hermitage neighborhood of Metropolitan Nashville. That is when the stand-off began, and a liberal mob quickly formed to help this man evade the law.

“When our officers leave for the day, they’re going to particular places looking for particular individuals,” said Bryan Cox, who is the ICE public information officer for Nashville.

“ICE believes that everyone is safer when federal, state and local agencies collaborate,” Cox added.

The cops refused to assist the ICE agents as they attempted to bring in the illegal immigrant. This happened despite a state-wide ban of sanctuary cities that went into effect earlier this year, but the city’s mayor proudly flouts both state and federal law.

Nashville Mayor David Briley, a left-wing Democrat, defended the complete lawlessness of his town, boasting that police in his city “do not actively participate in immigration enforcement efforts and only serve as peacekeepers.”

“The officers were at the incident today to keep neighbors safe and secure a perimeter,” he added. “I am keenly aware that this type of activity by our federal government stokes fear and distrust in our most vulnerable communities, which is why we do not use our local resources to enforce ICE orders.”

Cox noted that 90 percent of the individuals targeted by ICE raids in the fiscal year 2018 either were convicted criminals or had a criminal charge that was pending. The liberal mob did not care that they may have been protecting a violent felon escape apprehension, as left-wing activists quickly descended upon the scene to demonize federal officers.

“You came and you’re trying to detain people. I’m trying to understand who you are and why you’re here,” said Tristan Call, who leads a progressive activist organization called Movements Including X, while harassing the ICE agents on camera.

“We’re just here doing our job,” an officer said in response. “You can stand there and film all you want to. I don’t have to answer questions to you.”

This is a glimpse into the future of America if the Left ultimately wins the culture war. The liberal mob will rule, police will do nothing to stop them, illegal immigrants will be above the law, and the U.S. will surrender its first-world status forever.
