Man Arrested for Second Assassination Attempt On Trump Has Previously Donated to the Democratic Party
The man arrested on September 15, 2024 in connection with a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has a track of record of donating to Democrats,
Ryan Wesley Routh is a former roofing contractor from Greensboro, North Carolina, who currently lives in Hawaii. He reportedly pointed an AK-47-style weapon at the former president while he was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, according to a News Nation report. Routh has donated over $100 to ActBlue, all while donating to the 2020 presidential campaigns of Tom Steyer, Andrew Yang, Tulsi Gabbard, and Beto O’Rourke, federal campaign finance records show.
Back In March, Routh voted in the Democratic primary of North Carolina, CNN reported. Curiously, Routh seemingly held pro-Trump views but has changed in his political outlook over time.
“While you were my choice in 2016, I and the world hoped that president Trump would be different and better than the candidate, but we all were greatly disappointment and it seems you are getting worse and devolving,” he wrote in a social media post on June 2020, according to CNN. “I will be glad when you gone.”
In April, Routh tagged President Joe Biden’s Twitter account in a post, saying his campaign should be “called something like KADAF. Keep America democratic and free.” He also suggested Trump’s campaign be rebranded as “MASA …make Americans slaves again master. DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.”
Routh visited Ukraine after Russia invaded it on February 24, 2022, per a report by the New York Times.
In a 2023 New York Times article covering American volunteers who want to fight in Ukraine, the Routh was quoted saying he was actively recruiting Afghans who defected from the Taliban to fight against Russian forces.
In an interview with Newsweek, Routh argued that many conflicts are gray, “but this conflict is definitely black and white. This is about good versus evil.”
When Routh was in contact with the New York Times in 2023, he reportedly displayed the “self-assuredness of a seasoned diplomat who thought his plans to support Ukraine’s war effort were sure to succeed.” The New York Times also found that Routh had little respect for anyone who didn’t agree with him.
Routh is just another sick individual living in the open-air insane asylum that is the US. With the corporate media constantly radicalizing people on the Left, it’s only a matter of time that several of these deranged individuals resort to violence.
We’re living in a time of great polarization and there’s no telling what the Left is capable of doing now that they feel emboldened. The Right needs to be extra vigilant in light of these circumstances. The days of peaceful debate are becoming more of an afterthought.
