Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig Calls for President Joe Biden To Step Down As the 2024 Presidential Cycle

On July 5, 2024, Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig urged President Joe Biden to drop out of his presidential campaign. Craig made these comments after Biden’s interview with ABC designed to reassure voters of his viability as a candidate.

Biden has been called to bow out from the race since the CNN debate on June 27, during which he appeared frozen on stage and made multiple gaffes. He subsequently chatted with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos in a pre-recorded interview that went live on July 5. Craig is the fifth Democrat in the United States House to call on Biden to drop out.

“Given what I saw and heard from the President during last week’s debate in Atlanta, coupled with the lack of a forceful response from the President himself following that debate, I do not believe that the President can effectively campaign and win against Donald Trump,” Craig declared in a statement, which was published on X. “This is not a decision I’ve come to lightly, but there is too much at stake to risk a second Donald Trump presidency. That’s why I respectfully call on President Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee for a second term as President and allow for a new generation of leaders to step forward.”

Biden asserted during the ABC interview that he made up ground in polling after the debate, highlighting that The New York Times had him polling “behind ten points” before the debate. The New York Times/Siena College poll had Biden trailing by roughly six points among registered voters and three points among likely voters prior to the CNN debate, with both growing by three points in the aftermath.

Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett was the first Congressional Democrat to publish a public statement calling for Biden’s exit from the race. Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva, Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton, and Illinois Congressman Mike Quigley urged Biden to step down, per a report by Axios.

Biden currently trails Trump by 3.3% in a national presidential match, according to a RealClearPolling compilation of polls. Trump’s advantage increases to 4.9% when independent candidates Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are featured in the poll.

Biden’s days as the Democratic presidential candidate are likely numbered. The DC regime can’t afford a bumbling, rotting corpse to continue being the face of the world’s premier superpower. The US is already gradually beginning to experience a legitimacy crisis at home and with Biden at the helm, it could lose tons of credibility abroad.

Regardless of who is Biden’s replacement, it will likely be a woke Democrat that promotes never-ending wars and mass migration. As they say, the new boss will be the same as the old boss.
