Montana and Arizona Are Challenging the Biden Administration’s Open Borders Insanity
States are taking action against the federal government’s inability to put forward an immigration policy that upholds American interests/.
According to Samuel Allegri of the Epoch Times, Arizona and Montana are starting to take legal action to prevent new immigration regulations from the Biden administration that they believe will negatively impact their respective states.
Under the new rules implemented by the Biden administration, ICE’s ability to detain some illegal aliens has been greatly restricted. Only illegal aliens who pose a threat to national security, crossed the American after November 1, 2021, or committed aggravated felonies would be detained and subject to deportations.
The Biden administration claims that the rules don’t prevent ICE agents from arresting or deporting people. However, there is a bureaucratic twist to it. Field officers must obtain permission from their higher-ups to arrest people who commit criminal acts outside of the previously outlined criteria.
“If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender,” Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich remarked in a statement. “Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law. This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants and the people of Arizona.”
Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen followed in Brnovich’s footsteps by filing a preliminary injunction with the aim of preventing the implementation of the regulations.
“Meth trafficked into Montana by Mexican drug cartels has wracked our state. The problem will only be made worse if the Biden administration continues to allow criminals to stay in the country,” Knudsen commented. “Enforcing our immigration laws and helping to keep Americans safe is one of the federal government’s most important functions. The Biden administration is failing its basic responsibility to Americans.”
The current border crisis is the product of an administration that has grown derelict in its duties to protect the American border. Cartels and other criminal entities in Mexico and Central America bid their time as Biden was installed in office and have now started to pounce knowing that Biden’s border team will offer a flaccid response.
Like the case of dealing with gun control, states are beginning to take matters into their own hands on immigration. This action is necessary for disaffected right wingers to send a message to D.C. and ultimately start building momentum from the ground-up that can carry over to federal campaigns.
Don’t let establishment Republican consultants fool you, immigration remains a high-stakes issue. A Republican candidate in 2022 who does not address this matter in a coherent manner, should not be trusted.
