Nancy Pelosi: US Gov Will Support Ukraine Until it Comes Out Victorious Against Russia

On October 25, 2022, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave a speech at the first Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform in Croatia. This forum has the aim of discussing plans to retake the Crimean peninsula from Russia. Crimea joined the Russian Federation in 2014.
In the speech, Pelosi stated that the US government will back Ukraine until a Ukrainian “victory is won.” In this case, a Ukrainian victory would mean kicking Russia out of Crimea. Dave DeCamp of Antiwar.com noted that such a military scenario would compel Russia to “consider an existential threat, giving it the pretext to use nuclear weapons under Moscow’s military doctrine.”
Emine Dzheppar, Ukraine’s first deputy minister of foreign affairs, declared that Pelosi’s attendance at the summit signifies that the US backs Ukraine’s goal of retaking Crimea from Russia.
“Her participation is a direct confirmation that the issue of de-occupation of Crimea is high on the agenda in Washington,” Dzheppar stated. “With such support, the return of Crimea is closer than ever.”
Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 following the Euromaidan Revolution that saw former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych be deposed. The predominantly Russian-speaking residents of Crimea voted to join the Russian Federation that year, which angered the US.
During her speech, Pelosi bragged about how Congress has spent over $67 billion in aid to Ukraine. She noted that additional aid will be coming. “And more will be on the way when we pass our omnibus funding bill this fall,” she proclaimed.
There is talk of an additional aid package, roughly totaling $50 billion.
In sum, this spending and previous military and economy aid packages would bring the total aid to Ukraine to north of $115 billion.
This is what DC Swamp largesse looks like. DC has never seen a war that it didn’t like.
The ruling class clearly has it in for Russia, and any state that challenges the neoliberal/neoconservative consensus for that matter.
This ruling elite is so detached from the rest of the population that it will go to great lengths to prosecute conflicts that serve no national interest while sapping the nation of its valuable blood and treasure.
A genuine leadership change is needed for the country to truly reverse course and pursue an America First foreign policy.
