New Caravan Doubles In Two Days As It Moves Toward the U.S. Border

The latest migrant caravan heading in the direction of the United States border doubled in size between Saturday and Monday, prompting a concerned statement from a U.S. embassy. Will Mexico be able to stop the caravan before it reaches the U.S. border?
Up to 3,000 migrants crossed from Honduras into Guatemala on Monday on a trek northward, after a standoff with police in riot gear and warnings from Washington that migrants should not try to enter the United States illegally.
The crowd more than doubled in size from Saturday, when some 1,300 people set off from northern Honduras in what has been dubbed “March of the Migrant,” an organizer said. The migrants plan to seek refugee status in Mexico or pass through to the United States.
Reuters could not independently verify the number of participants, but images showed a group carrying backpacks and clogging roads near the border, some waving the Honduran flag.
The impoverished nations of Central America, from which thousands of migrants have fled in recent years, are under mounting pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to do more to curb mass migration.
“We are seriously concerned about the caravan of migrants traveling north from Honduras, with false promises of entering the United States by those who seek to exploit their compatriots,” the U.S. Embassy in Honduras said in a statement on Sunday evening.
Reuters passage ends
Over the Easter holiday, Americans across the country were shocked to hear of a caravan of Central Americans moving across Mexico with the goal of illegally entering the United States. The group behind the caravan, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, meaning people without borders, pledges to break immigration law in order to provide “refuge” for thousands of Central Americans.
The funding behind the group is unknown, but on their website they solicit funds through PayPal, despite their illegal activity directly breaking PayPal’s acceptable use policy.
But while the funding of the group running the caravan is unknown, it is known who is funding some of the organizations supporting them. Mother Jones is a left-wing news organization, and after news broke of the caravans, they labeled those opposed to the caravan as “trolls.” In their article, they mince words to make the attempted illegal immigrant criminals sound like nothing more than peaceful migrants.
After following the money, it becomes clear where Mother Jones’ agenda lies. A report from CNS News shows that Mother Jones has received immense funding from George Soros through the The Foundation for National Progress, which has received over $1 million from George Soros.
George Soros has a clear incentive for groups like Pueblo Sin Fronteras flooding into the United States. He has been pushing for more open immigration laws around the world, resulting in him being condemned by world leaders.

SUV Carrying 27 People Crashes with Semi Truck Near Mexican Border, At Least 15 Killed
A tragedy that could’ve been avoided.

A Tuesday morning crash involving an SUV and a semi truck has killed at least 15 people.
The crash occurred near Holtville, California, a town close to both the Arizona border and the US-Mexico border. The SUV, according to the New York Times, pulled into the path of the semi at an intersection.
14 of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while another died at the hospital. At least six other victims are currently receiving treatment at the hospital as well.
It is believed that 27 passengers were packed inside the SUV, which had a maximum legal capacity of seven to eight people. Because of this and the crash’s proximity to the US-Mexico border, it is probable that the passengers were illegal immigrants being smuggled into the United States.
The California Highway Patrol has not officially confirmed their immigration status because it is still under investigation, but Dr. Adolphe Edward of the El Centro Regional Medical Center said he believes the victims to be illegal aliens.
Big League Politics is closely following the illegal immigration crisis that’s been brewing since Joe Biden’s assumption of the White House. We recently reported on how the Border Patrol expects 13,000 illegal alien minors to arrive at the US-Mexico border in just the month of May. We also reported on Biden’s DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming that he didn’t think the situation at the border constitutes a crisis:
Another reporter asked Mayorkas if he thought there was a crisis at the border, to which he replied: “I think that the answer is no. I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing, and we have our resources dedicated to managing it.” Despite the reporter’s pushback on his claim, Mayorkas reiterated that his team was working “around the clock” to address the issues confronting the DHS and that the level of illegal immigrants coming across the border constitutes a challenge, not a crisis.
Illegal immigration is harmful to both the nation and the migrants. Tuesday’s accident near the border was a tragedy that could’ve been avoided.
