New York City Republican Mayoral Candidate Fernando Mateo Slams Donald Trump on Liberal Radio Program

Video of New York City mayoral candidate Fernando Mateo trashing former president Donald Trump as “arrogant” and lacking “humility” on a radio show in February is rapidly going viral.

Mateo is running to turn the city red after the disastrous tenure of Mayor Bill de Blasio, but his viewpoints seem to be out of touch with the new America First GOP that has Trump firmly as its figurehead.

“He was arrogant. He didn’t have humility. He wasn’t a President for all the people. But you know what? That’s that. New York City is my life,” NYC Republican mayoral candidate Fernando Mateo said while appearing on HOT 97 radio.

The clip can be seen here:

Mateo is running for the Republican mayoral nomination against Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, a community activist who has urged people to get active and clean up the NYC streets for decades. They helped clean up the city in the 1980s and 1990s and are snapping into action to do the same right now.

“There’s an aggressiveness that’s taking place in the subways that hasn’t taken place for quite some time,” Sliwa told Time Magazine back in 2017. “My sense over the years is that we’re beginning to slip back.”

Sliwa knew exactly what was coming to New York City, and the COVID nightmare as well as the Black Lives Matter terror uprising shows that Sliwa’s leadership is desperately needed to restore the city to its former glory.

Big League Politics has reported about how violent crime has risen precipitously throughout the city over the past year:

Shootings in New York City have spiked 358 percent in comparison to this time last year, as Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots weaken the rule of law across the city.

There were 12 shootings over the previous week in 2019, and that has jumped to an incredible 55 shootings over the same week just one year later. This resulted in 74 people being wounded, according to data released by the NYPD.

This news comes after NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea announced that a plainclothes unit meant to sniff out crime on the streets was disbanded. He made it clear that his agency would not be reversing their decision no matter how bad society devolves.

“We cannot stop our way out of this problem,” Shea said. “We need bad people held accountable,” he added.

The criminals are being unleashed, and the anti-crime strides achieved over the past few decades are being reversed under the rule of far-left Mayor Bill de Blasio.

De Blasio addressed the surge of crime with his usual empty platitudes: “We are not going back to the bad old days where there was too much gun violence in this city, nor are we going back to the bad old days” of police supposedly abusing civil liberties.

Criminals have received the message that de Blasio is actively hamstringing law enforcement. This has resulted in a wave of savagery that goes far beyond mere shootings.”

If the people of New York City want law and order, they will choose Sliwa as their candidate and reject the anti-Trump Mateo to defeat the Democrats in this year’s mayoral election.
