NHL, NBA, MLB, & Other Major Sports Leagues Call For Passing Radical Gun Control Measure
The National Hockey League (NHL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and several other professional sports leagues are calling on Congress to pass additional gun control through the reauthorization of the Undetectable Firearms Act.
On February 10, 2024, Gun Owners of America (GOA) published an X post criticizing NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, NBA, and NASCAR, for sending the letter to leaders of Congress.
GOA explained in a column published on February 8, 2024, that the letter was directed to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
These major sports leagues used the letter as a vehicle to argue that restoring the Undetectable Firearms Act is a critical component of a safe fan experience at sporting events.,
The letter stated, “[We] urge you to reauthorize this critical law so that our organizations can continue to keep our fans safe.”
Sports leagues have been fully captured by the leftist mind virus in the last few years. The results have been obnoxious to say the least, with many fans being alienated by otherwise respectable sports institutions.
Moreover, such woke capture is indicative of a broader hegemonic agenda the Left is pursuing, where every facet of society has to be under their control. Gun rights activists must respond in kind by supporting boycotts against these teams while also calling on local and governments to push for measures that remove economic privileges from these franchises.
Bad behavior — be it from a private or public actor — must be resoundingly punished.
