Nothing is Too Extreme: Virginia Lawmaker Proposes Abortions on Delivery Table, Governor Sees No Issue

A Virginia House Representative has proposed another radical abortion bill, allowing abortions up to the moment of birth.

Representative Kathy Tran proposed House Bill 2491 that would allow abortions late into the third trimester. “It strikes out language in the current law allowing third-trimester abortions only when the pregnancy “is likely to result in the death of the woman or substantially and irremediably impair the mental or physical health of the woman.” The bill takes out “substantially and irremediably,” thereby allowing abortions for any loosely defined “health” reason,” according to Life News.

Taking it a step further, according to LifeNews viral video, Rep. Tran states that her proposed bill would allow legal abortion even if the mother is in labor.

Delegate Todd Gilbert asks, “where it’s obvious a woman is about to give birth, that she has physical signs that she is about to give birth. Would that be a point at which she could still request an abortion if she was so certified? She’s dilating.”

Rep. Tran – the mother of four children- responds, “My bill would allow that, yes.”

Attempting to relieve the pressure from herself, Rep. Tran tries multiple times to avoid answering specific questions about her bill. Stating that, “I don’t think we have a limit in the bill”, Rep. Tran seems unsure of what all her bill entails.

A further look into the bill indicates that HB-2491 would also allow for first and second trimester abortions to be performed by non-medical doctors and showing pregnant women an ultrasound prior to an abortion would no longer be a requirement.

The loud pro-abortion advocate, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, has no problem with Rep. Tran’s statements as he defended infanticide after the release of this viral video.

UPDATE:

Thankfully, this barbaric bill has been DEFEATED!

Life Action News reported,

“Live Action News reached out to Rep. C. Todd Gilbert’s office who said the bill will not leave the subcommittee and no action will be taken on it. The Washington Free Beacon said the Repeal Act “when put to a vote… was defeated” and The Daily Progress reports that it was killed. The Washington Times and other sources are reporting that the bill has been tabled or suspended. Nearly half of the Democratic caucus supported it, despite the fact that it allowed for the abortion of viable babies even if the mother was in active labor.”
