Obama’s DHS Secretary Confirms ‘We Are Truly in a Crisis’ on US Southern Border

Democrats have been ignoring the emergency on the US southern border since President Donald Trump took office, but one of Obama’s top federal bureaucrats is blowing the whistle about the raging crisis.
“When I was in office at Kirstjen Nielsen’s job, at her desk, I’d get to work around 6:30 in the morning and there’d be my intelligence book, sitting on my desk,” Former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Johnson said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday.
“The PDB and also the apprehension numbers from the day before. And I’d look at them every morning — and my staff will tell you if it was under 1,000 apprehensions the day before that was a relatively good number. And if it was above 1,000 that was a relatively bad number and I was going to be in a bad mood the whole day,” he added.
Johnson said that the apprehensions that are coming in now are unfathomable in comparison to even the large number he had to process while heading up DHS.
“On Tuesday there were 4,000 apprehensions,” he said. “I know that a thousand overwhelms the system. I cannot begin to imagine what 4,000 a day looks like, so we are truly in a crisis.”

President Donald Trump is upping his tough talk toward Mexico in the hopes that they will do something to fix the problem.
“We’ll keep it closed for a long time,” Trump said on Friday. “I’m not playing games. Mexico has to stop it.”
Trump is also yanking away aid from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala because he believes the socialist governments of those failed states are conspiring to send caravans of illegals across the US southern border.
“We were paying them tremendous amounts of money. And we’re not paying them anymore. Because they haven’t done a thing for us. They set up these caravans,” Trump said, according to a CNN report.
“At the Secretary’s instruction, we are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” spokesperson for the State Department said. “We will be engaging Congress as part of this process.”
When even Obama-era officials are forced to go against the Democratic Party narrative on illegal immigration, that is an indicator that the crisis is really picking up. Trump will have to fight not only members of the Democrats but also traitors lurking within his own movement to solve this existential threat to the future of the US.
