Olympic Bobsledder Lauren Gibbs Gives Into Leftist Outrage Mob, Deletes Selfie with Ivanka Trump, Sarah Sanders

The United States’ Silver Medal-winning Olympic bobsledder Lauren Gibbs finally gave into the leftist outrage mob that has relentlessly attacked over the course of the past few days on social media after she posted a selfie with First Daughter and senior White House advisor Ivanka Trump and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

In the Twitter post accompanying the selfie, Gibbs wrote, “It’s important to remember that we don’t have to agree on everything to get along, be civil to each other and enjoy each others company. #itsforamerica it was a pleasure to meet you both!”

Gibbs also went on to allow Ivanka Trump to wear her Silver Medal that she won with Elana Meyers Taylor in the two-woman bobsled competition, after Ivanka reportedly questioned how it felt to wear an Olympic medal.

“I feel like this almost is like trying on someone’s wedding band,” Trump said. “Am I allowed?”

As is typical of the anti-Trump left, what followed was a barrage of hate, threats, and intimidation from a seemingly coordinated liberal outrage mob.

To her credit, Gibbs fought back against several critics before deleting the image.

“History will treat [President Donald Trump] as an equal to Hitler,” one user wrote. “Your children and grandchildren will be so embarrassed of you for this picture.”

Gibbs responded:

Another Twitter troll took the opportunity to accuse Gibbs, who happens to be black, of being a “complicit citizen to the very people working against your chance at a better life.”

While much of the reaction Gibbs received to her Tweet was the typical drivel we often hear from the anti-Trump left, it wasn’t all negative as some sensible Americans choose to weigh-in, as well.

In the times in which we live, the world could use a few more athletes like Lauren Gibbs.
