Orthodontist Hands Out Glock 19 to New Invisalign Clients

Wake Forest, North Carolina-based orthodontist Dr. Jason Gladwell has recently offered clients a membership at the Youngsville Gun Club and Range or a new Glock 19 in a special promotion offered in November.
Per a WSB-TV report the promotion is entitled, “Grins & Glocks.”
WRAL reported that individuals choosing the Glock pistol had to participate in Youngsville Gun Club and Range to go through the mandatory background checks in order to attain possession of the gun.
NC Council of Churches director Jennifer Copeland threw a fit about the promotion:
They’re giving away guns that are going to be lodged in a house somewhere, and will potentially create gun violence and gun death. It’s mind blowing to me, that an organization that I think of as trying to provide health care to the people in the community is partnering their healthcare with gun death.
Attorney Ron Shook had this to say about the giveaway, saying, “The concern here is that we’re not having firearms transferred to folks who do not qualify to possess them. This could be folks with criminal histories, mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse issues, restraining orders against them — or in the case of a handgun — under the age of 21,”
Background checks for gun purchases ask prospective gun owners about criminal history, mental health, drug addiction, etc. Gladwell made it clear that the participating patients had to be 21 or older.
According to a report by the New York Post, Dr. Gladwell “was surprised that the gun promotion stirred up so much attention when their good deeds go unnoticed.”
The “good deeds” Gladwell mentioned included donations to charity. AWR Hawkins noted the significance of this giveaway involving a Glock 19:
“The Glock 19 is one of the popular firearms of all time. It is a 9mm pistol widely used for concealed carry and home defense.”
Such giveaways by business owners should be highly encouraged. Small and medium sized businesses are the backbone of the economy and some of the last bastions against leftist control. In red states like North Carolina, such pro-gun sentiments are quite widespread.
Civil society and the private sector must continue pushing such initiatives to ensure that pro-gun culture remains strong across the US.
