PATHETIC: Gavin Newsom Apologizes for Calling Organized Los Angeles Rail Thieves a “Gang”
California Governor Gavin Newsom apologized for referring to mass-scale organized railroad thieves in Los Angeles County as a “gang,” speaking in a news conference intended to condemn the thefts on Thursday.
“This is not one-off. This is organized theft. These are organized groups of people that are coming out,” said Newsom of the situation, before walking back his language and asking the media to “forgive me for saying ‘gangs-‘ that’s not a pejorative.”
Scenes of mass-scale railway theft that’s left the vicinity of Los Angeles railroad tracks covered with stolen packages and pilfered groups have shocked the public, with many comparing the “progressive” state of California to poor, developing countries. Even Governor Newsom admitted the scenes of the theft were reminiscent of a “third world country,” using language not typically embraced by Democrats.
“It looked like a third world country, these images, the drone images that were on the nightly news. I took off the suit and tie and said I’m coming because I couldn’t take it,” said Newsom of publicity of the thefts. “I can’t turn on the news anymore. What the hell is going on?” Questioned the governor, appearing to sound more like a Californian alienated from his government rather than the executive actually tasked with solving the state’s innumerable problems.
Newsom had showed up at the railroad tracks photographed mired in filth for a cleanup effort, offering a PR stunt to the Californians less than thrilled to see their state transform into a anarcho-tyrannical litter basket.
Union Pacific railroad has threatened to cease shipping goods into Los Angeles County citing the thefts, hitting the county’s Soros-funded district attorney for refusing to prosecute organized thieves who continue to breach railroad cars daily.
