POLL: 78% of American Voters Believe Hamas is a Terrorist Organization

Following Palestinian militant organization Hamas’ attacks against Israel on October 7, 2023, the overwhelming majority of United States voters believe Hamas is a terrorist organization.

Per a poll by Rasmussen, 78% of likely US voters believe Hamas should be classified as a terrorist organization. Only 8% disagree, while an additional 15% are unsure.

85% of Republican voters, 70% of Democrat voters, and 78% of independent voters believe Hamas should be classified as a terrorist organization.

60% of voters believe American organizations that provide material support to Hamas should be subject to federal investigations. 19% disagree and 21% are unsure.

70% of Republican voters, 53% of Democrat voters, and 56% of independent voters believe American organizations that aid Hamas should be probed by federal law enforcement.

81% of white voters, 64% of black voters, and 75% of non-black minorities believe Hamas should be classified as a terrorist organization. 61% of white voters, 52% of black voters, and 59% of other non-black minorities believe American organizations that back Hamas should be subject to investigation by federal authorities.

Hamas is a terrorist organization that should be condemned for the attacks it launched against Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023. It’s existence is also one of many reasons why the US must strongly restrict immigration in order to prevent crime and even terror attacks on American soil.

Nevertheless, Hamas’ existence should not be used as a pretext to investigate otherwise peaceful pro-Palestine organizations or any organization that opposes Zionism. In these times of crisis, infringing on civil liberties is the last thing we should be engaging in.
