POLL: Americans Believe Ukraine is Losing the War Against Russia

According to a recently published Rasmussen poll, 13% of likely United States voters believe Ukraine is winning the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. By contrast, 23% believe Russia is winning, while 48% believe the Russo-Ukrainian conflict is at a stalemate. An additional 17% are unsure. 

46% of voters view Zelensky favorably, which includes 24% with a very favorable impression of the Ukrainian president.  29% view Zelensky in an unfavorable light. 51% of voters believe Zelensky is doing a good or excellent job as the leader of Ukraine in its war against Russia, whereas 17% stated he is doing a poor job and an additional 12% are unsure.

35% of voters currently believe the US isn’t doing enough to assist Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion. 31% believe the US is doing too much to supply aid to Ukraine. By contrast, 27% stated the amount of US support to Ukraine is just right.

Among voters who believe Zelensky is doing a fantastic job as Ukraine’s leader, 64% believe the US isn’t doing enough to assist Ukraine.

58% of Democrat voters, 34% of Republican voters, and 45% of independent voters have at least a somewhat favorable view of Zelensky. 

65% of Democrat voters gave Zelensky a good or excellent job rating in the way he has handled the Russo-Ukrainian war. 36% of Republican voters and 49% of independent voters hold this same view.  

21% of Democrats voters, 11% of Republican voters, and 8% of independent voters believe Ukraine is currently winning the war. 29% of Republican voters, 16% of Democrat voters, and 23% of independent voters believe Russia is winning. 47% of Democrat voters, 45% of Republican voters, and 51% of independent voters view the war as basically a stalemate now.

41% of Democrat voters, 24% of Republican voters, and 39% of independent voters believe the US isn’t doing enough to assist Ukraine stave off the Russian invasion. 46% of Republican voters, 20% of Democrat voters. and 29% of independent voters stated the US is helping Ukraine too much.

As far as race is concerned, Zelensky is viewed at least somewhat favorably by 49% of white voters, 35% of black voters, 52% of Hispanics voters and 29% of non-black minorities. 

As for income earners, those making over $100,000 annually hold a more favorable view of Zelensky and are more likely to indicate that the US government isn’t doing enough to assist Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.

Russia is clearly winning this war owing to its escalatory dominance and it possessing much more manpower. Any further military aid will only prompt to take major escalatory action that could result in the absolute destruction of the Ukrainian state as we know it.

It’s time that we give a peace chance instead.
